we tend to do most of it TBH but the last job was contracted out to someone we have used for years. I dont mind it in the newer builds but some can be a bit horrible. All depends if we have any time or not!

I used to work somewhere where all the servers were Simpsons characters too. Very funny talking to techies about work stuff We use names of moons and stars now but we still have comedy names on a few.

interesting article, we always feel like we are firefighting rather than planning ahead and implementing new technology as much as we'd like to!

after a few posts on here I have since used Joe at CP for a couple of bits. Kit has always arrived on time, he's a nice guy to deal with and on the stuff I have got from them the pricing has been excellent
-
Agreed, we have had Mark in a couple of times recently and have the kit on test at the moment. Net-Ctrl are very very helpful and the demo and survey were a great help and gave us a good idea of how we can use it here. It seems really flexible kit and the management interface is great. I'm testing later today in our new building and hopefully it will be just as good in there. (BTW, you still use fax???!)

[for sale] Konica Minolta Magicolour 7300 (A3 colour laser)

Hi All, We have recently upgraded our workhorse of an A3 colour laser to a photocopier. Its a Konica Minolta magicolour 7300 which has A4 and A3 trays fitted. 256mb RAM and 10/100 ethernet. Total Page count = 86024 Consumables Yellow: toner = 9%, print unit = 45% Magenta: toner = 95, print unit = 45% Cyan: toner = 27%, print unit = 45% Black: toner = 0%, print unit = 44% I realise the page count is high but I have within the last 12 months fitted a new drive belt unit (usually go at 80000ish) and a new fuser unit. Both these parts are £400ish each. Offers around £450 would be nice Pallet delivery possible or if I have a someone to help me unload I can drive it somewhere, otherwise collection from Chigwell, Essex. Thanks- 22 replies

Same system here (100 extensions) but no digital. Do you give all staff extensions just for voicemail?

Hiya, We put in an Avaya IP Office over the summer and part of the deal was a site lisence for "PhoneManager" which is basically a cut down version of the soft console our reception use. It doesnt work so well for our IP Dect handsets but for analogue users its great as they get all that functionality without the need for an IP phone. We have gone 50/50 ish IP/ana and so far, so good - great system.
-
our rooms are generally open for use but it can cause trouble sometimes with noise/general messing around!

we use quite a few Optomas now and I like them. Most powerful one we have is 2800 lumens.

SharePoint Training for Schools (advanced)
dirtydog replied to JT270678's topic in Courses and Training
did anyone ever get any details of something like this I would be very interested. cheers -
our hall ceiling is very high but luckily it has a lighting bar towards the front so we hung it off of that. We put a 5000 lumen's or so Sanyo, you buy the unit then lense to fit - have you checked if you can get a lense to throw from the back of the hall? We have a motorised screen and a breakout box at the side of the stage for plugging in. I fitted it all with our technician and I'm pleased to say it gets used loads!

done a few of these for personal machines... hard to get rid of although one program did succeed. easier to wipe IMO.
-
we use them for a lot of stuff and other than the website not being great I haven't experienced any of the above comments. I can only assume we have a really good account manager 90% of the time they are cheaper than everyone else and saves us time looking around TBH. We have used them for a while as we never get the sales calls but some suppliers do drive me nuts for constant calling.

NP - yeah I saw that, at least its up to date I suppose! Handy article as you can see how to check if its already installed.

try this About Battery Update 1.2
-
Ouch! We don't deal directly with Apple we go to an educational reseller nearby who do all our repairs etc. The batteries are supposed to store a tiny amount of charge but they didn't for some reason and then wouldn't recharge afterwards IIRC hence the software update to fix.
-
Batteries are not generally covered but we had issues where staff let batteries completely discharge over a holiday period then the battery appears with an X and becomes unusable. Apple said it was a known fault and there was a software update which fixed it after they replaced the batteries.
