  1. I watched the first episode recently and it confused the hell out of me that Face wasn't Face.

All of the components look good, they cheaped out on the motherboard in there as that one was designed for Skylake anything Kabylake or newer and would have had to have a firmware update to make it work.
  3. I use Adobe Premier for all my green screen stuff
  4. also if you are selling it as a whole unit, it'd be easier to sell if it's got Windows already on it.
  5. the license is linked to the hardware so you could get an old HDD and install windows 10 and windows servers will pick it up and activate it, no need for any license keys.
  6. I don't generally have problems with iPads not being put on charge or cables breaking but I think this is because it's normally well behaved children from each class that are trusted to collect and return iPads before and after use. I have LapCabby mini 32v trolleys
  7. Definitely looks like a swollen battery to me, How old is it? an apple store should sort that out for you for free, if not it's not difficult to replace batteries on those, there are plenty of YouTube tutorials.
  8. It's a sad, sad time when schools have to consider this as an option to save money, I agree it is more than likely a publicity stunt to draw attention to the cuts that we are all facing in schools. Do I think they'll follow through with this proposed plan? No, the money saved will be virtually nothing, but the publicity from this is what is needed to bring this very real problem we're all facing to the public eye. My ICT budget has halved since 2015, it's now at the point that I don't have enough even for the basic stuff and am looking at free alternatives to software and trying to make our ageing hardware last well past it's regular life cycle. Good on them for calling the government out over this.
  9. One of the schools I supported before I worked here had one of them still brand new in the box that I found while performing an ICT inventory, that was about 3 years ago.
  10. it's working fine for me but I'm on the moderate restriction dns
  11. I use Canon Ixus and Powershot cameras here, simple to use and they seem to stand up to the battering they get, I still have to replace at least one a year though.
  12. There is no way to eat a magnum without chocolate falling off of it FACT!
  13. 99 should have been #1 IMHO I do like a Mars Ice cream but in this weather its Calippo's and Solero's all day long, I wouldn't even touch a magnum in this heat because you'd be wearing most of it before you'd finished.
  14. I recently bought an Android headunit for my car and have got Spotify, Waze, Torque etc installed on it but I need a good Podcast app for it, I am currently using Podcast go but that feels like it could be a lot better. So does anyone have any recommendations, I'd preferably like one that will download episodes while on my home and work wifi while the car is sat outside, I'm not fussed if it's free or costs money as long as it works well. TIA
  15. A lot of schools are trying to help the people that have nothing as result of this terrible disaster by wearing something green and bringing in donation this Friday, it started with west London schools but it seems to have spread nationwide looking at the #greenforgrenfell hashtag on twitter, it's good to see schools doing what they can to help out others in times of need.
  16. Well on Friday afternoon I had a real world test of our network security, and I'm happy to say it passed with flying colours. A teacher came in to me at about 4pm saying she couldn't copy her reports to her memory stick at first I thought it was just another dead memory stick but when I put it in my PC Sophos went crazy, turns out it was infected with Cryptoguard malware, Sophos Central dealt with it before I even knew what was going on and it initiated a scan on hers and my computer and killed it dead before it could do any damage. I only just upgraded to Sophos Central with Intercept X at the end of last term and I'm so glad I did because I'm fairly confident the standard Sophos enterprise endpoint protection would not have dealt with it quite so well. There was me thinking I'd be working late on a Friday but Sophos stepped up and was like "Chill bruv, I got this!"
  17. Planned obsolescence has to be on the cards at some point.
  18. Personally I think it's inevitable that at some point Microsoft will adopt a similar store structure to Apple and Google, where eventually you'll go to buy a game on the Xbox One and it will tell you that your hardware is not supported, I just don't see how they can say that every game will work on every Xbox especially when they've hinted that they will not be releasing a "new Generation" of consoles.
  19. Watched the first episodes of Under the dome, Revolution and The 100, trying to work out which one I should focus on.
  20. People lucky enough to get out of the building said there were no alarms and the only reason they woke up was because they could hear people screaming. Apparently the building was maintained by the local authority and was refurbished just 3 years ago. Such a sad sad tragedy

I've gone the other way and moved almost completely away from my gaming PC, spent almost a grand upgrading it a couple of years back and now it is no more than a glorified kodi box sat on a chest of drawers in the bedroom

Well I'm setting aside £90 a month until November to get a One X to hook up to my new 4K telly, my current Xbox seems to be on it's last legs making some really dodgy HDD noises so I hope it lasts until November.
  23. I use iTalc here, for a freebee it's good but it's far from perfect.
  24. I set our printers to print in Black and white by default and now if find discarded b&w prints by the printers where they obviously wanted it in colour in the first place, I think we're saving money in the long run though even with the misprints.
