  1. Just an update to everyone on this one.... I have a feeling that the entire 1st line support team has been outsourced. I can no longer get through to anyone i recognise, unless I select service delivery. The team I get on support have no technical ability, and just take my details and end up logging a ticket on my behalf. So i take it back, start looking elsewhere!
  2. I have used schools Broadband for some time now. It has definitely had its peaks and throths. More positive than negative. In terms of the solution as a whole. It's fantastic.... Hosted firewall and netsweeper. It works really well. The support is a bit hit and miss. It started off amazing... Like really amazing.. then when lightspeed took a turn, as did the support and the offering was somewhat non existent. When netsweeper came about, the support went back up again, but then it seems to be a bit hit and miss these days. The teams seem to swap around every few months, with a wave of new job titles to go with it. I think some of the team I've dealt with have had 3 different job titles in the last 3 years, but doing the same work. Which is where I feel the support is hit and miss, most recently the hub has been released which is actually really good. But other changes, not so good. They seem to have a new overflow team to deal with calls when it's busy, which I'm guessing is now outsourced, and they are just diabolically bad. They didn't even know what I meant when I said firewall. To me, when a company starts to outsource, I start to worry, as it appears like their eye has moved from the support they provide to saving money. So a minor red flag there. NOC team is still where tickets go to die, Probably by biggest gripe with schools Broadband, they are an unreachable team, and I find most my issues are "with the NOC team", which is why I get frustrated there. But I guess they are meant to be sorting the issues and not dealing with us mortals on the phones. Response times on tickets are higher than usual these days, but I know this is the busy period for new orders for them. We deal with other providers, and I'd say that schools Broadband still out perform them. That's my honest thoughts, overall, I would recommend.
  3. Have you updated the integrated services? https://ramprasadtech.com/hyper-v-vm-integration-services/
  4. DoveComms is the company we use. Really accommodating and just nice people. DoveComms - Voice & Data Made Simple We pay about £5-600 per door for Paxton. We got some funky non touch buttons too. COVID safe!
  5. Done that, just trying to work out how to deploy the settings/config
  6. Just to jump onto this. Has anyone got this successfully working with Intune Joined, devices?
  7. We use eBay for both buying and selling. We probably make about 10k a year from selling redundant equipment. At least!
  8. If your school is allowed to use eBay, even better! Cheers!
  9. Not sure which forum post was on about the impossible find for these geobook screens. I finally found a supplier who can get them! GeoBook 1E screen specs: Panel size - 11.6" Resolution - 1366 x 768 Type - TN Touch - N/A SCR0550B-IPS - ETA 5 days @ £66.00 + VAT AMC - Danny Foster - [email protected]
  10. I woke up this morning, reading this: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56130187 It says HR on the title, but it goes on to say IT department. The owner says, IT departments don't make people happy, so I don't need them. I'm actually amazed a company that big can function without an IT department. Unless they just out source?? Curious what others thought of this.
  11. We are heavily using intune/endpoint manager at the moment, not hybrid. We went from 0 to over 300 devices managed over lockdown. I'm seriously considering ditching SCCM. My thoughts with intune/endpoint since using it are: Imaging - we currently just usb boot devices and then it hands over to autopilot. However being able to order a laptop from Dell and it automatically being enrolled by them is just amazingly cool! Drive management is non existent.. so windows update is your option. There are a few scripts online that do helps. But only for Dell, HP and Lenovo kit. It may be that better options exist.. but it's a messy one. (MDT implementation may be the solution to the) The ability to deploy software to a laptop even when off site is just amazing! I can't stress the convenience of this enough.. 2D design deployed to all laptops... All in 300 various homes.. took me all of 3 clicks! I did have concerns about intune and how it handled shared devices, but once again, this was out to rest after a bit of testing. Logins do generally take longer than our traditional 20 seconds.. but always under 60 seconds. So I'm happy with that. It is just amazing not having to deploy from on site. Lock down chrome installs to all home learning laptops.. no recall and gp update.. it just deploys.. it's honestly scary efficient! Also when a kid forgets the password.. having to recall it to cache the reset password was so annoying. That's now gone! Just another comment about the password write back.. are we sure about that licence? We don't buy any P1 licences, and we have password write back.. to AD.. Hope these thoughts help! It was a mindset change, but I'm glad we moved!
  12. Just want to give this a bump.. we are all fun to work with!
  13. Hey Mike Matt from limehurst here. One of schools use EKTE and are having the same issues. Glad to know we're not the only one!
  14. Some features are only available with the purchased licence of active inspire. Do you have the licence key?
  15. We didn't buy our ruckus through Net-Ctrl but I did speak with them on and off for advice. Excellent service! Wouldn't hesitate going with them!
  16. New advert - due to no successful appointments. East Midlands Education Trust - Vacancies (emet.academy) Closes 22/02/21 Any questions, then please ask!
  17. Hi all, I can confirm that if you buy intune for education, you get access to full intune. As others have said. The "education" portal is just a watered down console, meant for less tech savvy. Whatever you set on the education portal will also be viewable on the normal endpoint manager portal.
  18. No luck! All i have is the DfE stating they do a flat fee repair.. for only £220..... Sigh...
  19. Sorry to "jump" onto this. But I don't suppose anyone knows where to get spare parts for these geo books? We already have a smashed screen!
  20. I meant look!!! Not lol! Sorry other platforms!
  21. Get rid of SIMS is my advice. Lol at other platforms
