I have always used ruckus at secondary schools. I agree with others, it's pretty solid. I have had a few issues with the two sites I have installed ruckus in, I think the support is pretty bad to be honest. Which I appreciate is against the general consensus. I also don't agree with the subscription model pricing. I have always gone for ubiquiti for our primary schools, solid affordable kit and support has always been amazing. That being said, I'd be hesitant to install ubiquiti as a full site solution in a secondary school. Can't justify that though.

I think if you approach leasing correctly it can work well. I never approach it with the thought that I will be sending it back. At the end of the day, do you buy anything with the thought of replacing it in 3 years? Unlikely... Not many schools have the budget or foresight. Just treat it as loan payments.

Sounds like some proper best value is being sought here... Not! Do a proper tender man.. get 3 true comparisons and get the best value with that money! It is our tax money you're spending! Just getting an online quote to tick that you got 3 quotes is not proper!

I used to think the 30 minute/8 hour thing was stupid.. then I spent some time thinking about it.. If someone is on a machine for 40-60 minutes, why do they need to sync there SharePoint drives.. they can probably just do it within SharePoint using the online apps. It's only where a user is always on that device where syncing is necessary. Like a teacher or admin staff.

FMS Online is an option. Or you have the others.. we still use on premise FMS and I hate it.. but our finance department seem somewhat reluctant to change.
