  1. Hey, i know this was 2 weeks ago.. but we are leicestershire based and have 6 of our schools on Office 365.. Feel free to drop me a line if you want to ask anything.
  2. Certainly possible, but a pretty big ask, and not "Quick"! Personally, i believe SCCM will slowly start to get pushed out the way, for the likes of InTune. Have you considered looking into InTune / some kind of MDM soloution.
  3. I always recomend Schools Broadband, since the new inline netsweeper, im pretty happy! :-) Schools Broadband have had there problems in the past with filtering etc, but the customer service has always been top notch. Exa i have used in the past, and been stable - but the customer service is somewhat to be desired!
  4. I went for seperate switches. My switches have a 10GB fibre back to the core, but i just didnt want that kind of traffic constantly hovering over my network. Also, as someone above said. Block the internet on that VLAN / Network. Don't want that getting out!
  5. If the techs want to fix someones personal device i say they can, but i give them a firm disclaimer that it must be done in a lunch break / in own time. And they are responsible for any reprocussions of the "fix"
  6. Me too! I thought i was the only one! Black for POE Devices - Probably need to split this, as it current coveres my phones and access points! Blue for printing Red for Links / Servers Orange for Redundent Links White for End Client
  7. I really can't get on with freshdesk, I love the outlook style that spiceworks cloud uses, so I can view all the tickets without leaving the page, IE I click a ticket and the box below shows me the contents. Freshdesk takes me to a separate page. If that makes sense to anyone?
  8. So i have just found out that Spiceworks cloud is hosted in the US.. so i'm now in this "looking for a helpdesk" boat. Need something that can be used for 10 schools... I looked at freshdesk, and personally don't really like it. I want a nice simple helpdesk!
  9. Senso fulfills all then requirements. Few little bugs, but the support is good and they seem to be on top of most issues.
  10. This! £11 a month, line rental for the occasional fax! [emoji848]
  11. Recently made a move from Impero to Senso here.
  12. My thoughts too... Jamf is good, but it's very expensive! Yes to your intune, that's exactly what we do.
  13. If the password gets out, how do you stop the students connecting there laptops to this WiFi, skipping any monitoring? Stopping GPO's etc.
  14. You get used to it, and it does seem to improve somewhat rather regular.
  15. We use Intune here. Pricing is really cheap. 3.60 ISH per staff FTE and it gives you 25 Intune licences per one FTE you buy. Really powerful, really happy with it. Especially as it's through office 365
  16. I don't think that's true.. it's very rare I see a school on Google. 95% of the time it's office 365.
  17. Yeah, the staff accounts aren't made from AD, like impero would allow for access. Has to be made manually. Good point with the power policy. Might take to that.
  18. Hi all, we have recently made the impero to senso jump (well, we are currently trialling it) Few things: - User accounts are not automatically created, you have to manually create them and de-activate them. - shutdown scheduling doesn't appear to be a thing - Automatic screen lock doesn't exist when network cable is unplugged. - Can't set login limits anymore. Ie.. student can only login to one machine at at a time. - No MAC Client. To be honest, I think the price and other benefits outweigh these.. with the exception of the user creation, having to add another manual process is a game stopper for us. Still considering, but think we may have to revert back to Impero.
  19. Dove Comms Only have Martin's mobile number to hand - 07827453867
  20. This is a little off topic, but can I ask why you are moving from Google to Office 365? I am.on office 365 and often wondered what the differences might be, and what makes people choose either or.
  21. At my old school. Heads of department would request an allowance on there papercut department account. Ie, finance would take out £500 from the departments budget. We would then add £500 of papercut credit. At my current school, On the 1st of the month, the current debits balance is sent to finance, resources and myself via an automated email. I then check that im happy with the balances etc, before running a bulk action on all the accounts to reset them to £0. Finance then take out the amounts from the departments budgets. I have found that letting them into debit, just removes the awkward conversation with the teachers who dont have budget authority, who want to add £1000 to the departments account. Works pretty well so far. The only thing i would love to change, would be the automation for the bulk account reset. However i have been told that this isn't possible! Unless someone is a papercut wizard out there, who can prove them wrong?
