  1. Outlook can be used with Gmail, if you mean the client? Surprised they actually like Sharepoint! I've not used Mosyle, but you could look into InTune? Its really cheap and very good! May aswell utilise the office 365 instance if you have it! I'm one of the BETA testers for SENSO, so i'm aware. I send the team at Senso about 3 GIFS a week, begging for the MAC / IOS Client, i haven't been made aware of any date for it yet! They are really good, so i'm hoping your early next year guess, is correct. I really wouldn't bother hosting a cloud SIMS server. Is it even supported by Capita / %GENERICSUPPORTCOMPANY%? I've heard a few good things about Printix in regards to a cloud print server. Looks like an ambitious project! With a tight timescale! Keep us updated, as to how it goes!
  2. Not to be that guy. But this seems poorly thought out! Chromebooks, with office 365? Why wouldn't you use GSuite? Jamf is AMAZING but also VERY expensive if you want to self managed, due to the jumpstart training they force you to have. You want web filtering, which deploying on all them devices, will be simple enough, but the Mac's don't seem to play well with inline filters, and agents. Senso doesn't support Mac or iOS (yet) Why host Sims in azure, why not use cloud SIMS, from capita. Or even better use any other MIS? Have you thought about printing? Just seems like someone grabbed the "How to cloud" book and is buying everything?
  3. I would probably VLAN my printers at this point, and allow the guest wifi and main network to go into printing, but not allowing my guest network onto main lan. That being said, papercut webprint is also an option, if you have money available? If not, Vlans as above! :-)
  4. We use it here to manage about 250 iPads total. Took a bit of setting up, but found it very reliable and very happy with it. Cost is a big factor for us, it's not free, but if you buy your staff equivalent then you get the student for free, so very cheap. The fact it's managed through office 365 is also a big bonus.
  5. Take a look into InTune. I think it's really good, and its cost effective. Can be managed within office 365.
  6. Love how Schools Broadband comment on the post before the supplier its actually about does! ha!
  7. Licencing was minimal.. maybe £200. Its also not just OS deployment. It is Software deployment, reports etc, etc. It also replaced our AV, so we manage defender through it. Saved us more than the licencing instantly. Main school with SCCM is 400 devices, 800 users
  8. Took me about half a day, virtual machine, so expandable storage. Allocated 8 cores and 16gb Ram.
  9. Having allot of problems with SBB here too. No one seems to reply. Or when i do get a reply, its not a helpful one. I have emails that i sent in two weeks ago, still awaiting a response.
  10. For me it was deciding what people would use when leaving school. Colleges seem to use Office 365, and the workplace tend to have office etc. I agree that some places are moving to google. But its certainly not as big as Microsoft / Office.
  11. I had this, and it was to do with no putting an end. We had to do a mail merge and specify how many results. For example, if you had a list of 100 students on the excel sheet, we had to say x100. Otherwise word runs indefinitely. Hope this helps.
  12. Sorry to frustrate you. The word rumour was used more to protect those who the information has come from. If you must know my school is 5 minutes up the road from Impero HQ, and I live 10 minutes away. So knowing people who live nearby, means I'm bound to know some of the employees. Merely trying to save some tax payers money. I don't have any malicious intent!
  13. I've heard a recent rumour, that Impero have just started making redundancies.. including the entire Q&A team. So I wouldn't go near Impero at the moment.
  14. Every now and then we see a good Capita engineer.. but they tend to realise that and move on pretty quickly. On general, crap service, crap support.
  15. Papercut is expensive, but it is actually worth the money. Rare to say that these days.. Couldn't afford it.. but if they raised prices by 25% , I would still suggest it!
  16. It's hosted in the USA. Not a huge problem. But just think people should know.
  17. Good point about being pushed into Chrome, I don't think you can browse the web without seeing a download Chrome button! 🤣 Would you say Firefox is better performance than Chrome?
  18. Huh? 1. Do people still use Firefox? 1.1. if so why? (Genuine question) 2. Does it not have its own download manager? 2.2. if not refer to 1.1 Genuine questions!!
  19. We are now on plumsail! The customisation is amazing! Love me a Flow! The fact it's inside office 365 also makes me extremely happy.
  20. What the H**l! Where did this pop up! I have literally spent days looking for a helpdesk i can intergrate into my sharepoint!!
  21. I don't necessary hate them, i just don't feel they are best value for the tax payers money. I feel it is a company that encourages lazy. They get 3 quotes for you, wack on the RM stamp duty and present it to the school. Something a quick 3 emails could be done internally. They make these consoles and new GUI's, which in my opinion, actually deskill people in the actual tools, like AD, DHCP, DNS, Group policy. Any tech is better learning windows tools, as they are what majority of the IT world use. On top of that, they charge licence fees, for the sake of having the programme. That is the reason in a nut-shell. I could spend a few pages going into more depth... But i feel this isn't the place for it! As for Impero, i felt that the updates were a bit slow. Fixes took weeks. Also i didn't like the direction they were taking in terms of cloud. It was more of a Hybrid model, as it took an on-site server still. Which they used the mask of "GDPR" as the reason for not taking it off-site completely.. Oh and cost..
  22. Rm CC4.. probably the most expensive shutdown button known to the world of IT! ha! Like the above, we used Impero, however after moving to Senso, it does the same. Hasn't skipped a beat.
  23. I believe so, I have to admit, I haven't needed to do that.
