You have summed it up here! If you are going Intune / Endpoint Manager - you need a third party printing platform. We recently made the decision to move to Canon Machines with Canon Uniflow, and this was a big part of the decision making process. As Canon Uniflow is one of the only vendors that allow Zero Trust printing. We simply deploy an agent - and they can release at any Canon printer across our trust. We still have a few schools who are on old Kyocera contracts and the only solution on these is either something like Printix or another similar app, which sadly does user based pricing... Or direct print! Canon uniflow does also support direct printing, which is another benefit. Basically - Intune seems to be the biggest hurdle after the TPM requirement in using InTune / Endpoint Manager.

With that pricing model, I would hope it was!

Pricing for these schemes are per user. Rather than per handset. So you have to factor in everyone who would use a phone. By the time you have done this, you are usually talking a fair chunk every month, compared to per handset costs. I know Dovecomms do a handset at £10 per month - including all calls. That goes down with more handsets usually. It is the same with Teams Voice. Matt

I wouldn't bother with google voice. We use: DoveComms - Voice & Data Made Simple Very cheap and effective.

Not that it will mean much from me.. but to all of you who put in the effort and extra hours to make sure your trust or school is moving away from ESS.. well done & thank you! I'm not one to usually say this (my amazon history proves it) but It seems that voting with our feet is making a big impact to a big company. Again.. good work all! I know some of you would have wanted to move, but were just logistically unable to, hopefully you will use the next three years to get a roadmap away! What is also good, is the more schools who move, the easier and more confident those who were nervous this time around will start to feel.

You need to contact your reseller who you bought them from.

They are a purchasing consortium. So you can qualify for the bigger plans that Microsoft allow. So as a trust, we buy a campus agreement, which usually is only available to College / University's. Even as a 22 school trust, we weren't big enough for a campus agreement on our own. However by buying with Chest, we were able to qualify. You do have to pay a small fee to Chest, I think it is £1000 per year or something. But as others have said, you end up with such cheap pricing on the A3 licences, that it is more than worth it's money.

Sorry - that was just me not typing the right word correctly... Apple School manager obviously works with Intune / Endpoint Manager. As SteveG said.. it is Apple classroom that doesn't! Which we don't use. We use Apple School manager to buy the apps and import our devices using DEP etc - which then push through to InTune.

Ha! I literally missed that! Well there you go! If you need Apple School Manager then maybe Intune is not the way to go. If you want to just manage them.. then perfect!

Realistically, you can buy one intune licence for 3.69 or whatever the cost is and it supports as many ipads as you can throw at it. I think Microsoft want you to buy one licence per 15 ipads... or something along them lines. Best to check with your reseller.

We awarded Arbor the tender. 22 schools. 4 Secondary. Waiting to hear back about the migration process.

If you are a Microsoft power house and looking for a budget friendly option. I would consider looking at Microsoft Endpoint Manager (previously InTune). Microsoft have invested millions in it, and I find it brilliant for managing our ipad estate, which is approaching 1K iPads.
