Dear All, If you have automatic updates on for your apps, I would say turn them off ASAP, we have had to contact our support people for our mac devices as Logic Pro 12 seems to break licensing per device via the app store, with this issue They have had to make a PKG version of 11.2.2 and roll it back for us, watch out for this one

MDT is pretty much dead, but when I was doing it with MDT, I put this right at the end of the task sequence, after everything has been deployed
-
It is also stated in the Microsoft Documentation/Learn/Whatever they are calling the website now, that the preferred method is to install a new one and migrate rather than in-place upgrade

USB-C is not a good laptop charging connection, the amount of dead ports we have on staff laptops, the thin HP barrel connector or even better Magsafe, is where it is at for chargers

Never really do them unless totally necessary and even then snapshot/checkpoint backups all the way. For File Servers, the File Server Migration Tool in Windows Admin Centre is excellent, I used it about 2 years ago to move a 2012 file server to 2020, just make sure you have the same amount of partitions/drives available as the original and it will do everything for you. It will even rename the new server the same as the old one and do all the NTFS and Share Permissions. Makes life a lot easier.

You seem to be mirroring exactly what our Timetabler says, while I can do basics in Timetabler, I have only constructed the whole thing in NT-6. Our Timetabler says take the time to do all the planning correctly, which can take longer than in NT-6 but it makes the scheduling so much easier and a breeze compared to weird things in NT6. Our only slight issue at the moment is we no longer "flick flack" changes between the Timetabling Software and the MIS, general maintenance is done in the MIS, so when a large rewrite comes mid year, we have to spend a bit of time redoing Timetabler before mid year options implementation.

Suspend all lesson, but create a one off lesson in the Registration Group course, after the times for the registrations that are already there. This was you don't have to re-tick all the students back in

Would your local support unit/supplier for SIMS not give you a more modern install if you need this?
-
FFX - had to install a mod called UnX which removed some kind of memory limit which seems to cause the issue. Weird that is affects PC but not the deck

Script to delete Adobe Appdata from students C Drive profiles
BKGarry replied to SJ98's topic in Windows 11
I think you can make a login batch file to do the following del %localappdata%\Temp\*.* /s /f /q This will delete everything in the Temp directory, which is what photoshop uses -
FFVII Remake and Rebirth have no issues at all and run beautifully but the X remaster seems to just randomly hitch and stutter on the PC. There are people that complain about it online

Maybe I'll just scrap windows and go full bazzite on my PC and see how it goes lol
-
I reckon it doesn't like my AMD Graphics card or something, but yes the steamdeck is really impressive to me.
-
Well I am currently about 4 1.2 hours into Final Fantasy X (Remaster), so very early on, but found it is proper jumpy on my PC, but on my Steamdeck, buttery smooth.

Copilot connectors, Fileshares and SQL (MIS maybe)
BKGarry replied to chazzy2501's topic in Cloud Services
I don't think you are allowed to let Third Parties, even copilot, have direct access to your SIMS SQL Server, as there is "proprietary code" in there, which was what the problem was with people migrating away from SIMS by giving them a database backup file. -
Authenticating Office 2024 LTSC Pro Plus - No KMS?
BKGarry replied to Miscbrah's topic in Office Software
What licensing model are you using? As I when into my 365 admin centre and can see the KMS Keys. I can remember a while ago that KMS keys were not by default and you had to request them, there are instructions on this page with links to forms for requesting them https://learn.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/commerce/licenses/product-keys-for-vl?view=o365-worldwide -

Sometimes it is easy to miss, and you could be in devices rather than users etc. It's just like being lost in GPO and not seeing the wood through the trees

Users and Browsers settings, Idle Settings. You can set it all here I do believe, mine is set to lock but you can tweak them all here

I watched an interview last night with Michael Shanks, where he revealed that a day or two before, a producer was asking to confirm an email address so that he could let them all know is advance out of respect, and that is the kind of thing I like to hear. edit: This clip

Stupid question, what happens if you just delete the .pkgf extension off of the "folder"

As long as they do not get mixed up and base the new series on this
