  1. Good afternoon, Can anyone who uses onsite shared Chromebooks with RM SafetyNet let me know how they are achieving user-based filtering through RM SafetyNet? Is RM SafetyNet GO the answer, or are you connecting them to your BYOD WiFi? I have been having some difficulty getting the latter to work on our test Chromebook. We already use RM Unify & sync our on-site AD users to M365. I have created a Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals tenant and federated it to RM Unify Any advice would be appreciated. Ian
  2. Morning all, Can anyone who uses NetSupport DNA (on-premises) with Chromebooks check the following and tell me if there is something I have missed in terms of deployment, as I am new to Google Workspace Admin (we are a M365 school). 1. Added the DNA extension to the users OU and the Devices OU 2. Selected Force Install 3. Added the following to the Policy for Extensions JSON { "server":{ "value":{ "name":"*.*.*.*", "port":1743 } } } 4. Saved the config. When I check the chrome://policy list, the NetSupport DNA extension is installed, but it shows "no policies set" Any additional settings such as "toolbar_pinned" show in the ExtensionSettings policy, but no json config. I have tried ChatGPT etc. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Ian
  3. Thanks for all the comments so far. Helpful information and a lot to think about!
  4. Morning All, I have been asked to get quotes for two classroom sets of Windows laptops and two trolleys, as we are losing an IT suite this summer. Does anyone have any recommendations for reliable, competitive companies who could supply these? Initially, they will be domain joined, but eventually I am looking at rolling out Intune. They will only be used for M365 and browsing, so there is no need for high performance. I have had one quote so far from Mesh Computers which is promising, but it would be interesting to know who other schools use. Cheers
  5. Hi Nick Thanks for the update and glad that yours is now working. Would you be happy for me to quote you to RM support to see if it is the same issue? When your BYOD was down do you know if the SafetyNet portal had stopped logging data as well? Regards, Ian
  6. Thank you for the information. It's somewhat reassuring to know that it's not just us. Lets hope they sort it very soon as we have just signed a new 3yr broadband contract with them! Regards, Ian
  7. Good morning Have any users of the RM SafetyNet Captive Portal had any issues recently? Ours has not been working for over a week and we are still waiting for a fix from RM. Additionally, no data is being logged into the RM SafetyNet dashboard and we are not receiving any browsing alerts. Fortunately, we have NetSupport DNA for our wired devices. Thankyou
  8. Since migrating to ESS Sims Connected from hosted Sims with Scomis, we no longer have access to the Sims2FMS application which our finance team used to convert data from our payroll provider into FMS. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and if so, have you found an alternative solution as ESS have not been particularly helpful!
  9. I have been running our SBC on an HP 800 G2 for over 18 months with no issues. We have around 50 Fanvil handsets. Hope that's helpful. Ian
  10. We previously used https://www.parkplacetechnologies.com/ to support some Dell R630 servers, Dell SAN and Dell network switches and and they were very good. Ian
  11. We do have a very closed filtering policy on the byod network. SLT still want to be able to receive safeguarding alerts from Google searches etc. We can obtain these from the SafetyNet reports but there are a huge number of false positives and the alerting is delayed.
  12. SWGFL is our isp and we use RM SafetyNet for filtering. We use NetSupport DNA (installed locally) which is great for everything except BYOD (which is on a separate vlan). As others have previously said, the reporting and alerting side of SafetyNet is poor and I wonder if it even complies with the latest dfe updates on Filtering and Monitoring standards. The main issue we have is finding a cost effective alternative as Smoothwall Monitor was initially considered too costly, considering we have a solution in place. Just wondering what others are using as our DSL is asking me questions about byod safeguarding alerts? Thanks, Ian
  13. Is anyone else having browsing issues through the SWGFL\RM SafetyNet this morning? We are in Plymouth and browsing is very glitchy with needing to F5 a lot to get pages to load, but we have plenty of bandwidth available. I did notice they carried out a maintenance update last night but status.rm.com shows all services as operational. I cant get an answer on the SWGFL support number which implies a problem but nothing has been posted.
  14. Changed virtual drive letter from D/E to X Is this a virtual dvd for the 2019 ISO? When I upgraded our 2012r2 vm's (vmware not hyper-v) I just copied the 2019 ISO to the Administrator's documents folder on each server and mounted them from there. Is there anything in the event logs on the server?
  15. Hi All Does anyone have experience of the Quartz GL Assessment software for printing 11 plus papers. We have used it successfully in previous years but are getting an error when tying to scan the calibration sheet. The software recognises the scanner when you load the scanner settings, but says "problem connecting to scanner" when you try to scan the calibration sheet with an orange exclamation mark. We have an open call with their one man tech support, but it is not looking great. Scanning from windows scan software works fine. Thanks in advance - Ian
