Sometimes it is not worth changing all the add-on systems at one, we kept Edulink for a year, until we got staff confident in Arbor and then moved over to Arbor's Parent and Student app for homework and communications etc.

The thing about Publisher is, it is (was) quite a good product for what it is designed to do.

Just to add, with the Schools SSO for Canva you also get to login to and use any of the Affinity (Designer, Publisher and Photo) as well, which are quite good programs think like Adobe equivalents but with coloured Icons 🙂

Also, I have not gone fully Unifi to the core, just because of historical reasons. I am pretty sure @localzuk has though. The core is a HP Modular switch that has some key phones and APs plugged in and the uplink connection to the firwall but it is mainly there to do the intervlan routing at Layer 3. That is on a 10gbps uplink, to a unifi aggregation switch that is then 10gbps connection to all other switches and then to WiFi APs and Cameras. Been running unifi for at least 10 years now starting with the AC Pro, and now in the 6 Pro in most places (some still have an AC HD in there) average on about 700 clients connected at most times with a large majority being chromebooks but also Staff have full windows domain joined laptops, as well as a selection of about 125 Windows Specialist Student Laptops with full domain login. It has been doing me well for all that time. Had 2 total bring downs but that was actually misconfigured windows DHCP on the VLAN that the Switches and APs are on and not Unifi's fault (always make sure that the default gateway is not in the DHCP Range to be allocated because windows will allocate that and cause fun)

Make sure you have set your spanning priority in the your switch settings. 0 for core 4096 for the next lot down then 8192 etc etc This will help prevent that in the future I also believe there is a switch in the console settings > Wifi that is a global switch for all WiFi Meshing that you can turn off too.

I would be interested to hear if anyone else has any experience of this, as we have been notified that this upgrade will be coming to us shortly.

That's totally awesome. I will probably not use it for this summer's exams, as they have done their PPEs/Mocks all with another program, but deffo on the list for next year (also may wait for it to be signed for Defender too)

@liamrobinson It says about needing network for installation, is that purely the method or is it needed for authentication? I have 30 exam laptops that have the wifi card removed that I would have to get it on.

They don't, the Exams Officer and SEN Admin people take copies of the ExamWritePad files and print them in the Exams Office

I have a set of 32 laptops with Windows installed, just exam write pad and Adobe Reader and all the wireless cards removed. Can't get more secure than that 🙂

Using a Supply Account in Arbor with a Supply Logon shouldn't affect any functionality just the name of the account you are assigning the cover lessons to

We have 3 Supply teacher records within Arbor, that are exempt from School Workforce Census, these link to 3 Supply Teacher user accounts, which can only login within school (using conditional access) and they use them in school to log into Arbor and use 365 etc. You just have to make sure that the supply accounts have the Office 365/AD Account emails in their Primary Work email field, and then they can login with 365

It seems version 12 relocates the sound library files, source: https://support.apple.com/en-jo/guide/logicpro/lgcp725c6d3d/12.0/mac/15.6 While this is a cool idea and means we can have one central sound library file instead of redownloading them all when reinstalling a mac, I have yet to find a way to centrally manage the location. It does seem to just work with multiple users, but clones it each time, not using any extra space on the local disk, but I this may affect some of you here.

You should be able to leave it as default and then build extra VLANs later on once you get switches in.

Not spoon-feeding here, just have some questions. Are you using the Dream Machine as a controller only, or are you going to be routing your internet through it? Do you have separate VLANs at the moment, if so what is doing the Intervlan Routing Are you going to be adding Unifi Switches and APs throughout the site at the same time?

We use Design and Management Systems, and I know they do cover Essex.
