One thing I give Babylon 5 the credit for, it works well in the Binging TV Age, while still not feeling like a major drag like some other shows of the time can be, but also does not really suffer with the unnecessary cliff-hangers a lot of modern shows seem to have

Chromebooks always deploy extensions/apps as user never Device. The way I understand it is this: Device - Everything that is before the user logs into the chromebook User - Everything once a user has logged in

If it is windows with Group Policy, then Registry Settings and Application by Device Settings and the Extension to Edge and Chrome via User settings

Assuming you are on about Chromebooks, then it is deployed as User.

OK All an update on deploying Adobe Apps via SCCM. 1 - Do one app at a time from the Adobe Console, I found that anymore than one App seems to go above the Cache limit at deployment time when using a task sequence for Machine Build, even if you up the cache settings. 2 - When creating the application, start as an MSI, going to the build folder in each one and select the MSI there, but then change the installation program to "setup.exe" --silent It should look like this. Deploy each app individually, starting with the CC client alone, and if you are deploying Acrobat Pro, do that last. 3 - In the task sequence, do an induvial step for each Adobe application, with a restart set between each one.

Well I went down the SCCM route, so much more "picky" than MDT. Looking at you Adobe CC deployment, I had you working in MDT but SCCM seems to hate it right now. Monday is going to be concentrating on that

I moved 9 or 10 years ago from Meru N access points to Unifi AC, and then 2 years ago to 6. It has been miles better than the Meru stuff towards the end, but I also think some of that was left overs of configurations from the MSP (we are a post BSF school), including one machine startup batch file that was basically DDOS'ing everything. Unifi has been solid for us, I have their switches, cameras and APs and everything works fine.

And there in is the difference we had, we migrated all the data we could, the only thing that didn't directly migrate was Assessment Manager items, the linked documents from the individual reports did, but not the marksheets. There is a routine to mass export marksheets as CSVs within SIMS, which is what we did, it took some time chugging away to do it, but we had a copy of all of them, just in case.

It does effectively lock you out once you are done, but TBH, I made sure all our marksheets where exported before we moved to a new MIS and we did vigorous checks of data when had a test site. It is just the fact that you no longer pay for the service and license so I get that you cannot use their product.

Couple of personal suggestions - Work with some actual teachers on your layout, it has been shocking, having staff with 13" 1080p screens and having to scroll down past the class selection box is not idea.1 Make the v2 client uninstall v1 and bring in the ability to apply different policies to different groups/folders as before, applying to the whole organisation at all times will not work for a lot of people. and most importantly, make it not feel like we are all in a massive Beta test rather than a finished product.

This is semi joking but in all seriousness, what happened to having a big mirror at a tilt facing from the ceiling above the board? No tech to go wrong there, nothing fancy, and probably some of the best image quality you'll ever get 😉

We ditched it, v2 was infuriating and the layout was not good on our Staff L13 Yoga screens, just was not a nice experience for both teaching staff and us. We canned it all, moved to Smoothwall Monitor and Cloud Filter for filtering a monitoring, yes it cost us slightly more in the long run, but Cloud Filter allowed us to comply the DfE Digital Standards for staff as well as students. We also moved Classroom Management over to Classroom.cloud without their safeguarding module etc, and the experience there has been great. Teaching staff seem to really get on with it, responds so much better with our Mac Suites in Music and Media and generally feels a lot snappier.

IIRC, you don't need a dedicated app anymore, you can "Install" the page as an PWA on your phone and enable notifications etc. As for iSpy, that is the What's New section (just not as fast on the scrolling updates) I do believe

Our IBM Aptiva came with MS Works, Lotus SmartSuite and Creative Writer. I used to love the ol' SmartSuite Drawers. In fact, for GCSE IT, back in 2001, We did most of our Coursework in Office 97, but Database Tasks were in Lotus Approach, because the school didn't buy any Access Licenses for students.
