it is a Catalyst 2948G-GE-TX If I can upgrade to IOS then I well need instructions on that too (I am a complete and total novice to all of this)
-
Right I have the configs :-) Core config (hopefully with passwords removed) Core.txt "new" switch config new.txt
-
Bingo, that would be the case

@FN-GM I can get our iOS core one without an issue (have that now in fact) but catOS seems to not allow the show run command. :-( It is not liking me at all this
-
Thanks @Davit2005 now to figure out the commands :-)

I have just discovered, tucked away in a store room, and old CISCO Catalyst switch, which has 48 GB ports. I really want to utilise this switch but I have no idea where to start, I have been fumbling my way through CISCO ios config with our main switches but not done anything amazing. I am just wondering, is there a way I can copy the VLAN config from my current switches onto this one without having to do it manually? Once I have the VLANS on, I can configure all the ports to my hearts content but I was hoping to be able to not have to program all of this switch manually with the VLANs.

Christmas shutdown sounds good to be too.

I may have to attend too, give me an excuse to enjoy a train journey and catch up with some people :-)

Just a word of warning from experience with the Intel ComputeSticks. Make sure you disable the windows updates service. I have had a few cases (we had early 8.1 ones originally) where windows updates would just brick them

Downloaded Resident Evil HS on PS+ over the weekend. I am still totally rubbish at the game but I am determined not to use Google at all for it. I also got Transformers: Devastation which I am loving :-)

Weds night I went and saw The Girl on the Train, which i thoroughly enjoyed. As it is closer to dark nights and I have been stressing at work, me and my friend have been making full use of our Cineworld cards :-) Next movie I am really looking forward to seeing is A Streetcat named bob. Read the books a couple of years ago and they were great (they actually made me cry on more than one occasion) so I can't wait to see it

[SIMS] Fixing historical issues with Course Manager
BKGarry replied to MissingDatum's topic in MIS Systems
OK, What I would do is create a new AS course in SIMS, with the QAN etc and then enrol the students with a custom date range of last year. -
[SIMS] Fixing historical issues with Course Manager
BKGarry replied to MissingDatum's topic in MIS Systems
So I just need to clarify something. Are they doing the 2 year A level all together? Or are they doing AS to A2 If they are doing AS to A2 then these should be treated as two separate courses all together. Both 1 year long and if they complete the AS and not going into the A2 then they should be deleted from the A2 (as they have not reached the 6 week cut off) If they are on 2 year A they will all need removing from the AS and a new 2 year A Level course created. Also, assuming your year 12s are now in two year, you will have to create new ones with new QANa for those ones with course links enabled and remove the course links on the old AS/A2 courses. I hope I have made sense there? -
An Introduction to IAM Cloud - Forum Sponsors
BKGarry replied to IAMCloud_DanielJennings's topic in Office Software
I'd just like to chime here and say that I have been using IAMcloud for years here. They are always there to help, and I cannot fault them. They have helped solve group sync issues, licensing fun, user removal and lots of other things. Their support team is excellent and are always there to offer advice, they even do Google integration with SSO. Pity we didn't use it in the end due to Google Classroom not doing custom URLs to SSO then. I could not do the failover in house that they offer for us- 18 replies

Thank you all. Currently at Oktoberfest east in London. £10 a beer!!!!!!

@enjay Exactly what I was thinking, AFAIK O365 only uses the images internally and not externally so we are fine there.
-
That's both of our systems sorted. Although I will have to ask higher up on the DPA with Google. Office 365 seems to be a bit more private.
-
Well now that is interesting, super interesting and wondering if they can do Google as well, as our students and staff tend to set a lot of random pictures. I know what I'll be doing Monday

Generic PostScript or PCL usually works.

What i do for the weird shares, and this isn't the write way but it works in finder user Go > Connect to server Type in your SMB shares, and then when connected, dragged the drive down to the stack area of the dock, near the trash can When they disconnect, you can just click on them down there and it reconnects them. Not pretty, but works. Also when connecting to a home drive, make sure you put the gull path

I will wait a bit before pestering them. I should get email notifications enable though.

Emailed to helpdesk with a welcome letter, now that sounds interesting

Had this installed over Summer, it has been a lifesaver :-) The class groups just added to impero, took 3 days of work down to 30 mins :-) (once you get in the swing of it) Every time I have contacted support they have been amazingly fast at not only responding but fixing it too. It is so cool that it can cope with us being mid change of username conventions too :-)
