I spent yesterday playing "Everybody's gone to the rapture" was a bit slow but in essence a nice game
  2. I didn't get ill. But I was only on the stand for two days, so didn't get as much human interaction as you lovely hard core people. The question is will @witch be joining me on a bag hunt again
  3. oh yeah, I forgot about that, that wasn't nice at all.
  4. *hangs head in shame* But Book of Mormon deffo interests me, I have also recently discovered a awesome fondue place in spitalfields
  5. Never know, there may be a BETT Pokemon Go event :-)
  6. I do live far enough away that it is like £24 for high speed 1 with a London travel card so makes it a bit more fun.
  7. I was planning on Doing Friday/Saturday as I am not on any stand this year, but I could go into London on the Weds and get HS1 home :-)
  8. oh no @bald_pig a 3 way date night, now that would definitely start rumours
  9. @Joanne you'll start rumours about us
  10. I love the fact that they have used the same/very similar score. That intro music grabs me almost as quickly as "The Circle of Life" does.
  11. Two days before the school census, your brave! I start dry runs at least 3 weeks before to make sure everyone fixes and checks their sections. We have an LEA license of ours, so we have to wait until they release it, but not in a rush.
  12. Count me in to whatever @Joanne. I have debating rather than going home Friday night booking into the lovely youth hostel at Holland Park. Bit of a tube ride but it is lovely and in Kensington and Chelsea
  13. I am afraid to say that we have around 210 of the Thinbooks and have the exact same issue, also found that using locktight on them doesn't help as the plastic the case is made of erodes if the tiniest bit gets on the plastic itself. I must say, veryPC have been pretty good at repairing them (if not a little bit slow just due to the sheer amount we have) I know Stone has put in extra testing for this issue but personally I have lost trust in a lost of Clevo designs because of this.
  14. We are slightly in surplus with laptops with sixth form lasting longer than expected and having to hold a lot of spares due to a long repair process on two years worth of laptops.
  15. Oops 950 students, 80 teaching staff about 45 support :-/
  16. Student Numbers: 650 Staff Numbers: 80 IT Staff: 3, 1 NM and 2 technicans (just finished being apprentices) Servers: (virtual/physical) 26 virtual/6 Physical Computers: (desktop/terminals) 24 Laptops: 1450 (including 75 MacBook Pros),staff and students use assigned laptops as primary devices Tablets 8 Surface RTs for TAs and 90 iPads
  17. Secondary School here with no ICT suites at all. In fact, in the whole school, there are 6 PCs in our Learning Support Unit for students to use and 16 admin PCs. Everything else is laptops. KS4 get a school own laptop assigned to them when they enter Year 9 and they stay with that student through to Yr 11, they have a RFIS laptop locker assigned to them, that only they can open. Any Damage they are to pay for. KS3 (7 and 8) have shared laptops, and to be honest this is a pain, people not plugging them in and lack of accountability on damage. Sixth Form have shared laptops but are encouraged to bring in their own laptops to make things easier. I echo what people have said, Make sure your wireless is up to scratch and has a decent management console so that you can see traffic if there are issues . Also, if they want to go down the tablet route, make sure your internet connection is up to it too. I am assuming you have around 15 classes with that size primary school, if each class has 10 tablets each, you are instantly going from (an assumed) 30 PCs in a suite to 150 devices accessing resources at once, and with tablets these are likely to mainly be online
  18. Good Morning All, Has anyone has any dealings with a Managed Print Contract from Epson/Contrac They are coming in cheaper than other quotes we have received through our LEA framework but I haven't found many people that have dealt with them. I was wondering how many fellow Edugeekers have the Epson Workforce Pro printers, and how you find them compared to Laser printers on the market. Also, does anyone actually have a Contract with Contrac at all, and if so, how do you find their service overall? We have Ricoh at the moment and I cannot fault them, but when cost is involved Epson looks like the better deal. Look forward to hearing from you, BKGarry
  19. All I did here was use nicer lens to take a pic of my servers from about 2.5-3m away
  20. Weds 21st Dec is last day of term. But there is community PSHE lesson 1 and students usually leave at period 4. So it should all be ok.
  21. Oh monkeys, I didn't see it was the last day of term. I am sure I can blag it as a conference
  22. I'm good with it too :-)
  23. Oh god @X-13 I honestly completely forgot about that. I am a bad Edugeek and need to whole heartedly apologise. I promise to come over your side of the water to see you, I will brave the deepest darkest depths of tilbury and all that.
  24. @DJ-1701 Megacan cocktail thing from the Download bar, they put rum ontop and set it alight. Needless to say, the can was rather warm
  25. Come on @X-13 Come into waterloo and enjoy some travelling with us, and get some Pokemon Go in too :-) I promise not to burn my lip on a can this time ;-)
