Thank goodness you said it, as that's all I could think about.

I think it all links to our current work on "Growth Mindset" I had a chat with the business manager, and she is on my side with this, I am willing to help and don't het me wrong, I will, I love outdoorsy stuff but it has to have a few caviats, like it doesn't cause my current job to suffer and people cannot moan at me when IT support is not a quick during these sessions (we are told we have to keep a person in the office at all times, with a team of 3, and 750 devices online, over wireless, at any one time, this can be tricky) All in all, I just think there is some muddling and that it should be people doing the KS3 project based learning that should take a lead on this.

Hiya All, So our headteacher mentioned in passing that she would like me to do the Forrest School Leadership training, as I have taken over the DofE Co-ordinator role here recently. I am doing some Googling and kind of getting it, but not too sure what it would actually entail. Has anyone out there done it or involved with and kind of Forrest Schools activities at all? Would be interesting to see what people think of it all

Brought "The Last Guardian" today. Played for about an hour. Seemingly under-impressed on this one at the mo. Don't have a clue what's going on or what I am doing

Train number 1 of the great north Kent journey has started.

Mine has a range of 20-22C because I also work in there. I blank out all the fan noise, right up until someone comes in and mentions it.

Boooo, shortcut keys are locked off. It is just weird they can turn it down but not up again.

Hiya All, Stupid issue annoying the hell out of me here. On a model of our laptop the hotkeys allow users to turn down the screen brightness but not back up again. Cue us having to go along, log in as an admin and adjust the screen brightness. Now a lot of our Group Policy Settings are super locked down, from before my time here, can anyone tell me if there is a way of allowing users to adjust the screen brightness without enabling all control panel access. At the moment if you right click on the battery icon as a user and go to adjust screen brightness, it just says that access is blocked. If I can just allow students to put the screen brightness back up, it will solve my issues, as I have tried various scripts to increase the screen brightness of restart etc but they seem to just stop working after a while. I am having to ask here because by GoogleFu is just not up to scratch on this topic with group policy (and my brain is fizzling out)

Wow that student's laptop is in excellent condition. The parent agreed to pay for the damage first time without argument. -

Why would be need our uplinks to be more than 1gb? -
I am going to throw a curve ball in there. I actually have 2 x ssd in RAID 1 for OS, 2 x SSD in RAID 1 and 4 in RAID 5 that are then teamed together with storage pools in 2012 r2 with making sure I declared them as SSD and HDD through powershell first and put as a single disk to the OS. This then does block level (using the shadow copies tech) that put the most accessed blocks in SSD and the rest on HDD and it has increased the performance speeds to near SAN levels but without the need to actually have a SAN.

Google Chrome had GPOs that will stop that point blank for you, just like IE and are available here https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/187202?hl=en I use the Google Chrome ones to manage our install everyday. As for Firefox, there seems to an ADMX file available here but not by Mozilla themselves https://sourceforge.net/projects/firefoxadmx/ What I would do to stop the download is change the temporary download folders and google chrome download folder to a redirected folder under the students my docs and use server 2012 FRSM to block exe and msi files, so they cannot even download it to install it in the first place.
