We went a bit more extreme, we got Ricoh (our printer manufacturer) to setup a Mono Only printer on our server and shared that as default, so there is a mono and colour queue for everyone, it is actually a lot easier for most to see this.

Well I may be starting this up again but I have thought I would give it a shot after some targeted FB adds. I have a few DofE events coming up and I just thought, oh well, something to keep my energy up during the day and TBH I am not eating properly during the day at all and then end up getting Chocolate or other naughty bits out at about 10pm a couple of hours after dinner. I have gone straight in for the "28 meal" pack and got a shaker bottle with it too, just to make sure I try to do it properly.

I find the older RDP that comes with office isn't working well anymore. If you download the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client from the AppStore it works a lot better. And It support remote apps too :-)

Woop Woop, I have permission to attend, going to stay at the Ibis near the train station, just to make my life a bit easier. Taking quite a late train into Leicester, that gets in at 22:31 but hopefully it should be nice and quiet by then. First time going to EDIT, I might be a bit excited.

Dear All, Myself and @X-13 have been discussing the idea of having a grand (south eastern) edugeek day out. We have been looking around and the idea has come up to do a day out to Southend sometime from May (purely due to the fact I can get a boat to Southend in Peak Season rather than train into london and out again). This would be a nice day out with rides, fish and chips and general fun bits to do. Think of it like that Only Fools and Horses episode but without the Exploding coach (or Margate) Let us know what you think and we can start throwing dates around.

Looks like it could very well be AV then. We do not use AVAST here so cannot say for sure but from the other two it does look like the likely cause. sending you eduhobnobs to help you get through it

I have had it once before, many many years ago, where a certain AV product classes a crucial windows DLL has a piece of malicious software, it was display very similar behaviour to what you have here. Just to check, there isn't a Windows Update schedule that runs over the weekend for you, and it has cause a part of the profile of the machine to not load correctly causing the BSOD is it?

But if that doesn't happen we can't compare ourselves to these lovable guys

Ok, I may be being special here, after an unforeseen side effect of removing an old Certificate Authority, after new one had been publishing since November. The wireless GPO is set up to do the following: -Auto-enrol a certificate but no certificate templates defined in the GPO -set up a wireless profile to connect to SSID but using EAP to connect only if this cert was present. Symptoms: If the workstation does not have a current cert from the new CA it just doesn't even try and connect and comes up with the troubleshooting wizard. Surely the wireless profile should be setup to connect using the certificate no EAP to the RADIUS server? This has lead to us having to drop all other plans and get our almost 1000 windows laptops, find a live port, connect switches, GPUPDATE or enrol the certificate and then restart the wireless adapter. We managed to do 200 in 2 1/2 hours today after the issue was highlighted. Can anyone see if this is actually correct or should we be authenticating with the certificates? This probably explains the years of issues with having to GPUDATE to get laptops back on the wireless. This is the last bit of the post BSF setup that I am picking apart now. (2 years on)
