  4. I second that,
  5. I have posted in their forums. I think the gateway pro is setup to work like a router, and doesn't pass through the IPs, but I think an Edgeswitch will do what I want. I was going to have the US-16-XG in the middle for the server hosts and the switches to go back to, if I have it right I can use the ES-16-XG and get a SFP+ to Ethernet adapter to put the WAN uplink/internet port into and it should do all of it. And to top it off the EdgeSwitch version seems cheaper
  6. ARGH!!!!!! So I am planning and remembered that our Router for our LA internet connection doesn't give an WAN IP Address, it is our DHCP server that serves all IP addresses as there are central web filtering servers which use those IP address and this is what passes through. I will have to keep our current core switch to do the VLANs and internet connection to their router, as I do not think it is possible to use the USG properly with what we have as our current service Maybe an Edge Switch from Unifi in the middle would solve these issues :-)
  7. Thank you @Primus That's what I am thinking too. The switches themselves do not do it. Looks like it is going to be a little bit more fun that I thought. At the moment, I have a funny one, where the only Unifi switch I have (in a small pavilion on our field) currently has 3 clients connected to it via an AP and one VOIP phone is listing 180+ clients. Must just be receiving all the broadcasts through the current Cisco vlans
  8. Hello All, After hitting some snags, I am going to have to look at my future planning of deploying my unifi switches. I thought all the Unifi Switches supported VLANs, so I got a new switch and started creating "Corporate" networks, didn't like that, so then I just tagged the VLANs (with no DHCP restrictions or anything) and it worked. I am currently looking (for the summer holidays) at removing our core Catalyst 3750G (two stacked in fact) and the rest of the Catalyst 2960/2960Gs. At the moment if I just have these VLANs tagged, I would have to keep the core switch in. Has anyone deployed all Unifi kit with VLANs, and if so, do you need the USG to make it work, as I didn't want to complicate things between our switches and the L3 switch (Router) from our LA's Broadband service. If you have done VLANs without USG, how did you do it?
  9. Yay I have a task for BETT, well I have indrectly taken up a task to make sure it is done correctly. Parental Engagement Systems, SchoolComms, Bromcomm, TASC, Capita et all here I come.
  10. Walking to work is a plastic tuba (in it's case) on my back, was all good until I got to the wind funnel which is the path from the gate to the main entrance, almost got blown into the car park, was quit entertaining
  11. YAY, I will get my Witch hug. "We're going on a bag hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day, we're not scare"
  12. As long as it in the school email system, so it can be traced, and you have the appropriate policies in place, such as who to report it to if you receive an inappropriate email then there should be no issue
  13. Just found KB-477636 on Capita My Account with states this
  14. @MrMat Thank you for that, Yeah I have the feeling that it for some other service, that is a shame, as I would have hoped that they could at least view it.
  15. Stupid question time: Has anyone played with the Student and Parent Accounts, do you know if one gives views of the other or something, we are looking at generating student accounts to allow the students to choose the options but there is nothing really in the documentation about these two accounts
  16. @X-13 please say you are there on the Saturday.
  17. Bit early to be there isn't it? @witch please say it isn't so, it is one of my highlights of BETT is bag hunting with you. If you're not these, I may have to seconder @elsiegee40 or @Joanne to help me on the bag hunt. (to which I now have, in the style of "We're going on a bear hunt": We're going on a bag hunt, we're going to catch a big one, what a beautiful day, we're not scared)
  18. We use all the Microsoft RDP stuff, minimal cost, and even have it that students can put in their email address and password on their home windows devices and it just adds the shortcuts to their start menus. I will meet up with you to talk about it :-) My favourite part of BETT is always receiving @witch hugs
  19. I wish I had a Server Manager.
  20. Is that your entire team? How will your school cope?
  21. in VLSC go to Licenses at the top and select Relationship Summary, if you have a valid subscription your should see and Open Value Subscription in there as active. Also under Licences > License Summaries should say what you are licensed to hold.
  22. Assuming you have a Microsoft EES agreement, already included, in fact you cannot use Education or LTSB without these.
  23. I am not arguing that, I have just not come back with anything wow, I have brought cool little toys for myself but nothing have I seen where I can come back and go, this will make an instant impact. I am still going and I am going in big time, and going to trace my route on the map and highlight things, and this year GDPR is no doubt going to be everywhere. Personally I just like going and seeing all the lovely Edugeekers that I do not get to see very often is the best bit.
  24. LM has said I can go on Thursday, as well as Friday and Saturday, as I really never get the time to look around properly. Am I the only one that finds it hard for inspiration at BETT the last couple of years?
