  1. Seems like it could be a 1709 issue then.
  2. Had the same issue occur (with a slightly different wording on the error) with word not printing due to a "disk space issue". Never found out what causes it, I bounced the print server / rebooted the clients and it seemed to fix it for now. But no doubt it'll come back. I had the issue with 1709, office 2016 and Server 2016.
  3. Thanks for the input and advice. I'll take some time and figure out whats best for the individual school.
  4. So it's not impossible to get them to login using AD credentials but mapped drives/home folders isn't possible right now? Thanks for your input!
  5. How would a flat network be any different then? It's the same AV on both networks. I'm not saying a split network is a good idea, i'm just saying if it ain't broke.
  6. Afternoon, I'm wondering if any of you guys can give me a quick run down on whats possible with chromebooks as i'm very much in the dark with them. Our current setup is a windows domain with ageing laptops that need replacing and the price of chromebooks is very tempting. Students in KS1 log in with a shared logon and save to a network share, KS2 log in using individual accounts and are using a mandatory profile. All domain accounts have my documents and the desktop being redirected. How much of this current set up is achievable on chromebooks? Is it possible to login using their current AD credentials? Adding the network printers? What about saving work? Ideally we'd like to save back to the server, as we will have a mix of windows PC's and Chromebooks, so saving to the same location would be ideal. I'd love to hear how some of you guys have them set up, any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
  7. I would never build a new network like it, but as i said, the LEA completely looks after the admin network. SIMS A/V windows updates etc. It's easier to leave it up to them to manage. Also, we are talking small primaries with about 3 admin PC's.
  8. Most of my schools have a split network, we have a domain trust where needed. The admin network is maintained by county and i'm happy to leave it alone and let me them manage the network/sims. It comes as part of a package so until the say otherwise i'll leave it be, if it aint broke an all that.
  9. Very good points above. When i upgrade my next school i'll be tempted to move the new LTSB release.
  10. Anyone know of a way to install the above fix on 1709?
  11. I read it as drone fight. I'm that disappointed I might sue you.

Is that mod still active with busy servers? I fancy a go!
  13. It started to make more sense as it went on. It's definitely a program that requires your full attention. I really enjoyed it, but i thought the first season was better.
  14. I'd love you forever if you post it!
  15. I've had it mate, foam roller helped me no end.
  16. There's arguments for CB (Current Branch) and LTSB. I've seen on here people have solid arguments for both, so i think it depends on your environment or your preference. Personally, i went with CB Education, though currently on 1709.
  17. I may as well try to help someone else who runs in to this issue. It seems to stem from machines not shutting down properly due to fast start up. If the issue occurs again i'll report back as it's a pretty serious issue. Adding this line to the startup script disables it. powercfg-h off
  18. Hi guys, We are using 1709 Education and local profiles, we are having an issue that when a child logs on, sometimes they cannot open my documents and get an error regarding permissions. The children in AD are members of Domain Guests so that there local profile is cleared at log off. Has anyone ran into this issues? It does seem to be a bit sporadic. Thanks.
  19. I found a band called Teenage Wrist pretty good! Although described as post-grunge, might be relevant.
  20. Hi, there's a GPO for that. Settings as follows: We use local profiles so we just point chrome to a directory and allow it to create a profile for each member of staff. It then picks this profile up when logged onto any machine.
  21. Does anyone know the hotfix number for this fault with 1709? We aren't making the jump to 1803 for a while yet.
  22. Last nights Westworld was the first one i didn't really enjoy =\
  23. Afternoon, sorry to bump an old thread but it is relevant. We are using windows 10 1709 and office 2016. We have a redirected desktop and children/staff cannot save to desktop, but under save as in office 2016 it is still there. Any ideas? The permissions are set as read and execute for pupils.
  24. I strap my foot when training, and wear insoles in my shoes during the day, i started wearing supportive shoes as well. I've probably had it for about a year now so far. It drives me mad, stretching/ice does help, but sometimes it seems to flare up really bad for no reason. Stretching my calf's seems to help prevent it, but once it's flared up it's bad for a few weeks!
  25. Anyone ever had plantar fasciitis? I've boxed/kickboxed/MMA for years and part of that is skipping. My dominant foot has PF and it really holds me back in training. Anyone had it? Mine is in my arch rather than heel, and i belive it is common in runners.
