  1. Thanks mate. I ran it as local admin and it exported ok...I think. We used to use roaming profiles for our staff, typically small primaries so it made sense. Everything major was just redirected, documents, downloads videos pictures etc. So now we are finding that roaming profiles break, the start menu can redirect fine then just break if i delete the local copy of the profile and log in again, i understand that this is what people have been saying. Whats the solution to this? What accounts do you guys use for staff? I plan to use mandatory profiles for pupils. Help is really appreciated it's driving me nuts!
  2. I did it as a member off staff and ran PowerHell under admin credentials. How should i do it? As a local admin? Really appreciate your reply! Thanks
  3. Ok, so on my redirected start menu i can add shortcuts to programs or folders but not folders themselves, is that as expected? I'm just working out how to do the XML file as well, i built a start menu as i wanted, exported the XML via powershell, but i when i look at the XML file, is only contains tiles for edge, not Word and other items i had created tiles for, code is as follows:
  4. Thanks very much for that, you are a huge help!
  5. Hi guys, we are struggling to get the start menu to redirect at all. We are doing it the traditional way, and when we join a windows 7 curric image to the new server 2016 setup we have, it picks up the start redirects fine. Our windows 10 image does not. Am i missing something fundamental on windows 10 with start menu redirects?
  6. Ok, bit odd this one. I'm using classic shell, and if i don't have the staff security group set to write for the redirected start menu folder i can't pick the redirect up. Also, when it is set to R/W it fills the rediretced folder with the system generated folders, such as admin tools and powershell, but does get items i place in there on the server. Anyone any ideas?
  7. D-d-double post. Ok, so i have some PS code to run a logon to remove the apps, if i run the script manually it works, but i can't get the script to run from group policy as a login script. No errors, it just doesn't work. Any ideas?
  8. Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried that method but had no luck, when the user searches for the xbox app for example they can still run it.
  9. Hi guys, nearly finished my Win10/Server 2016 setup but now i'm looking at the built in apps. Whats the best method for getting rid of them, or just blocking them? I'm ok with them being present in the image just as long as they can't run. Any ideas? Many thanks Patrick
  10. Hi everyone, We are starting to create our base image for Windows 10 1703, does anyone have a checklist of changes/checks for the base image? Or any tips or gotchas? At the moment we are just installing core software into the base image and testing compatibility. I've kept my eye on the Windows 10 section of the boards and noticed a few issues with start menu redirection and think we will go down the classic shell route if it's the simplest solution? Feel a bit lost with all the info/bugs/fixes/updates floating around. Cheers
  11. Has anyone got a mandatory profile that's working they can email me? I'm testing server 2016 out with a win10 client and could really do with a man profile to test out! It'd be a massive help

  20. Write down all concerns and symptoms on a notepad as you may forget them, and see your doctor. It's easy to forget things during a consultation, and something that might seem small to you can be a big clue as to what your condition is.
