This is exactly an issue I'm having at the minute. I couldn't get to the bottom of it on one server so just set up the backup on C: and my data drive on the server. If the server dies now whats the best way to recover this? Will booting into the install media and selecting the recover from an image options restore C: and my data drives to a bootable state?

I normally use ubiquiti products and i've always been happy.

Putting theory to practice (Routers and IP Addressing)
Patrick replied to Sanm2009's topic in Wired Networks
Sort of. You'd configure VLAN's on the router but the actual addresses are being issued by your DHCP server i'd assume. -
I've had issues before when asking a logon script to execute a file. Weirdly, I created a scheduled task to run a basic script of the application. By basic I mean "\\server\software\file.exe" -arguments I set the scheduled task to run that as a batching file at logon and as an administrator and it worked. I'm not saying it'll work for you, i'm just saying that logon scripts have acted up for me before.

I remember when toro rosso were aloud to race with a V10 after the were banned as long as they turned 2 cylinders off so teams have been aloud to race old cars before, but there is no point in the marussia being out on track. The 107% rule is still in place and they wouldn't be able to meet the required time, so whats the point other than an attempt at salvaging money? It's not like they'll be fighting anyone, they'll just be on their own at the back getting in the way of quali and not taking part in the race. Pointless. Lets see if the yanks last longer next year.

Is it a permission issue when it comes to executing the file?
-
No, but i keep track of my lifts and swimming progress on the notes app of my phone. I also take a progress pic every few months.

Not far from where i am now, currently in nelson! Not Gym, work wise!

I've just had to strip the weight back on squats. My form has gone off completely. Where's your comp at?
-
How do you find fitting Muay Thai in, in an already busy fitness schedule? I train 4 days a week at the minute, i'd like to take up BJJ or Muay Thai on fridays, but i'm pretty battered with muscle soreness or just generally pretty tired.
-
Your dead lift and squat is really very good. I see some lads in the gym lifting a hell of a lot less, haha. Squat ass to grass or parallel?
-
Diet is the hardest part mate. Most people fall in love with the sport their doing but begin to hate the diet. It can get very repetitive. We should share recipes for fit foods to help us a long. Chicken and rice gets old, very very quickly.
-
Impressive stats! espically the dead! How tall are you? I lift to aid my swimming but i really should take it more seriously. Bench is 90kg, squat 120 and not done DL for a while.

Thought we might all like a topic where we can discuss our various and varied training, if you're just starting or want to show off your new personal best, let's hear it! I'm currently training to break through the 1 mile in less than 30 minutes barrier for my swimming. Best I've done so far is 35 minutes and really struggling to get lower than that. May have to start again and build my form up. What's everyone else up to?!

I know they have been top of the time sheets, but i wouldn't even bother reading into that too much. They are not working on set ups right now, more aero performance, power unit reliability and the driver getting a feel for the car.
-
I'm impressed with the ferrari really. Got some decent laps in. I doubt the ferrari power unit will be up to the mercs power but if they've closed the gap it could make for some close front running, which is what we want.

I know this thread is only about the C25K, but does anyone want a general fitness thread? Running, weightlifting, swimming, MMA training etc..

Did you hear how that mclaren was running yesterday? There's a video on youtube but i'm on the curric network so i can't find it but it was stuttering, slow to rev and they were up shifting early. Obvious teething issues with the power plant! They've done better today. 30-odd laps until a cooling system failure.
-
I used to have a car that stuttered and spluttered to get going. Little bit of gas and it used burst into life and run fine. It would then idle fine too. Worked for me.
-
Yeah my bad. Don't use the throttle. Didn't realise it's an old engine. An ECU wouldn't flood the engine but carb will.
-
Use a bit of throttle with the clutch down when starting?
-
Wouldn't it make sense to put the print server on its own? In you have an issue with it you can power cycle it as needed without taking down the file storage too.

There is no official way to sync bookmarks to chrome from IE other than the first run GPO setting. It's a real pain and is one of the reasons its not the default browser in my network. See the following for more info: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/3LmbRu6LGZM

Junior school password policy - what do you do?
Patrick replied to adminray's topic in How do you do....it?
we use generic class accounts all the way through the school. Not secure at all, but some schools we only visit when there's a fault and to keep coming back for forgotten passwords would be a nightmare. Never had pupils delete each others work and we have backups. It works well really. Wouldn't dream of using it in secondary though. -
Smoothwall, would you buy it?
Patrick replied to TechBod's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We've always stuck with county filtering. We are on lightspeed now. I've never even though of using anything else, which worries me slightly as i might be missing something you guys are not..
