  1. Perhaps show them your setup in school, and make general chit chat about it, asking if they have used systems like X before or what's your opinion on X? Not a test I know, but should give you a base line idea on there technical skills (we can all spot a bullsh...er) and a friendly chat is a great way of figuring out someone's personality/attitude.
  2. Yeah, its the lack of movement forward and back for the squat that does it to me, seems to just plant all the stress on my lower back. When it comes to bench it just does nothing for me, I can bench heavier on it, but I feel like i'm taking the strain/stretch off my chest and just purely training my triceps, so I suppose in a way its not too bad for building strength as long as your using free weights too. I have actually used it for shoulder press too before, but that's only because the rack was being used. It was no where near as good as a standing OHP.
  3. This a 1000x. The smith machine is pretty much useless. The best workout you can get from the smith machine is by dragging it out the gym. Stay away from it if you can. Squat in the power rack and use the safety rails if they have them if you have no spotter.
  4. Yeah sounds like a broken update, probably easier to just reinstall the OS.
  5. I read the article and was completely unsurprised by this. iPads are a PITA in the school environment and apple do the bare minimum to help us roll them out and support them in school. Even they admit they are consumer devices and not for the educational sector.
  6. I might have to look into it, we have a generic staff account that the TA's use so will probably limit that one.
  7. With quotas on, does it just refuse to save anything once they hit the limit? Could see that making me very unpopular when year 1 staff are copying the Frozen DVD to their user area...because staff wouldn't do that at all..
  8. AC removes moisture from the air, that's why in your car the AC demists the windows quicker, so as long as its running around the 20 figure and not too dry it should be fine i would have thought.
  9. Also, if your local account name contains any unusual characters it will cause it crash.
  10. Single player first, but then i'm up for some edugeek mayhem!
  11. Forget sometimes that we basically work in the same town. You at any other schools in town?
  12. I'm excited! Not sure if my system is up to the job though, if not i'll have to wait till end of the month till i can upgrade/play it! Specs: i5 2500K 8GB RAM Radeon HD 5770 (..the problem) storage not an issue but not soild state.
  13. Just picked up my physical copy this afternoon from Game. My connection at home isn't great and is even worse now the girlfriend has discoverd the smart TV can stream netflix. So i bought it. All 7 DVDs of it..! Is it unlocked yet?
  14. Did the trick!! It's key to use the USERNAME variable and not USERPROFILE. Thanks very much, great stuff!
  15. No luck That just created another folder in the user profile called my documents. It work as a local user, but not as a domain user, because my documents are redirected. Hmm.
  16. Ahh no. That just created a SavedGames folder in the user profile alongside My Documents. Any .vbs scripters around that could knock one up? Maybe .vbs can call My documents variable?
  17. Morning all, back to the daily grind after easter break!.. We have an issue with an application called Kodu. The program tries to create a folder in the users My Documents folder but for some reason the program failes to create it with an error. Not sure if it's a permission issue or a bug in the program. I'm thinking the latter as it even fails if you log in locally. If i create the folder manually (my documents\SavedGames\Boku\Player 1\) the application loads fine and saves data to that folder. So, a simple fix would be a logon script that would create the folder. I tried this: md "%USERPROFILE%\documents\SavedGames\Boku\Player 1" This just creates another folder in the user profile along side the "my pictures" and such called documents. I have tried other variations such as \My Documents\ etc. Is there a system variable to use for navigating to my documents? Any help would be great. Not sure i want to go through profiles manually adding this folder!
  18. Have you been left in charge of the network all of a sudden or something? Try and make sense of the fix LeMarchand has mentioned. There are a number of guides around on deploying printers using group policy, have a google around. Spiceworks is good community to find guides and how-to's but it is not focused on the education sector. If you are then happy that your printers are deployed (they might already be) then apply the point and print restrictions settings, that will fix your driver problem, as long as you have the right driver(64bit for 64bit OS). Stick with it mate, research as much as you can before changing anything. We all start somewhere and we all need help. No one know's everything!
  19. This might be a bit much for you at the moment. I appreciate that you are having issues with your printing but without knowing what server you are working on or having a basic idea what settings you are changing you could end up doing more damage. I suggest having a good read up on basic networking functions, particularly servers. Find your domain controller and have a look around and learn the systems and how they work before changing anything.
  20. Are you a multi server environment?
  21. Use Print management to deploy using group policy OR add the printers using the group policy preference. Let us know if this makes sense or not to you. The drivers should install automatically providing you have the right driver for the right OS, such as x86(32bit) or x64(64bit).
  22. Ohh! Where you off to? I've been to new York when I was younger and it was brilliant!
  23. Did you know the 'muricans put mash potato in the gravy at KFC...? But talking about KFC in a weightless thread is evil. When you off to the states?
  24. I like carbs way to much. And McDonalds. I watched supersize me thinking it would put me off. All it did was make me really want a big mac.
  25. I assumed that for your competition you were on a calorie surplus and bulking for dem der strength gainz. But your trainer might have had you on a clean bulk, I dunno. You can get a little extra weight doing this so people go and cut with is a calorie deficit with a clean diet and drop some fat for that lean look. I'm no expert on this though.
