Hi gang, We have a rogue SIMS user (previous employee) who is no longer marked as an employee of the school, is no longer an active SIMS user and yet is still appearing with the users who can receive SIMS messages. Therefore, their message box gets full pretty quickly. How can I get rid of this person?! Ta.

We have a school Twitter account that is only posted to by me. It's been on and off for a few months but now it's really getting going, especially with a few events we have coming up. Followers include pupils, parents, other schools, sports people/teams, etc. and it really motivates the pupils when we get a tweet off the local radio station congratulating us on recent rugby results, etc. We're promoting an event coming up soon and have made a relevant hashtag. People can post using the tag throughout the event and we'll bring it all together at the end for all to see.

I have one Twitter account for both personal and professional. It's not a professional Twitter name but it's not offensive either and my real name is displayed on my profile. At the end of the day, it's me. I don't need two versions of me.

I just stuck ours on the root of the web server and put the internal URL in the Wifi settings: http://webserver/wlanproxy.pac. Works a treat.

Spiceworks for us. Integrates with the inventory and I've limited it to email only which means the staff don't need to learn something new. They just email the helpdesk address and it's entered into the system. We track it from there.

Anyone any thoughts on this? As a test, I replace Sims.ini on the problem machine with a copy from a working machine. Still no joy.

Schoolboy error alert For this, I am truly embarrassed and ashamed. A computer that was domained but now will be working as a standalone. I decided I'd impose some restrictions so jumped into gpedit and off I went. Smiled with glee as I stopped people doing this, that and the other. I felt the power. It was immense... ... until I rebooted and the sudden realisation that everything had also applied to the local administrator account. Nothing. No Run, no C: drive, no Win+R. Nothing. This computer is now useless to me. My name is Paul and I am a total numpty.

Long term supply teachers (maternity leave) are give their own SIMS user account and the timetabler give them access to the classes of the teacher they're covering for. Day-only supply teachers take a paper register.

A+ certified here (or just "certified" depending on how well you know me). Mine was done through the job centre when I first started in IT some years ago. It's probably changed a bit since then.
