There is no animosity and they're leaving on good terms, but still, I'd like to make sure I cover all bases when implementing a lockout procedure... Our written policies only really cover departing teachers and office staff, so this one is kind of new. Disable their account Change DRAC/ILO passwords Change UPS admin console passwords Change Web Domain control panel password Change local admin password on Workstations/Laptops Change local admin password on Servers I know Ive forgotton some other things too, so please add to this list.

virtualbox would work fine.. my nagios runs on Gentoo on a hyperV, which isnt supported by MS (ie theres no Synthetic nic access etc, only emulated) which is the same effect you would have running nagios on any linux distro on Vrtualbox. If you have 0 linux experiience its probably not the easiest of choices.. but if you can get an ubuntu (for example) server up and running, theres some pretty easy step by step by step guides written for installing noagio.s

Sounds complicated heh.. I knew I should have plugged back in the KVM! And I knew I should have plugged in more than one NIC... Ah well.. Someone will be able to log in locally next weekend I guess I can do without it till then.. What an idiot haha

I made a big mistake today with my HyperV host back in scotland. I was remote desktoped into it, and had a couple of VM windows open. I thought I was disabling the NIC on one of those VMs, however it was actually the host nic. OOPS. Now, all the VMs are still up and running fine and connected to the network, its just the host I cant get into. Is there any way of getting back into this machine, seeing as though its pretty much disconnected? I dont think there is!

upgraded all my virtual 2008r2 servers and a win7 testbed vm today.. took about an hour on each of them.. Ive not had the stones to upgrage the host yet but will wait a week and do that.. How does everyone plan to roll this out to laptops? Will WSUS handle it OK over wireless (90% of our machines are laptops) Or should I just wait till we reimage them (only just reimaged them over the summer (december) so will probably be another 6 mothhs+ till they get a reimage)

I have Be Broadbands IPs and the way they assign them is wierd. It isnt its own netblock, its like .2 .4 .6 .8 .10 .12 and .14 and someone else will have .3 .5 .7 .9 etc Im looking at doing it in software rather than having to buy a new bit of hardware. At the moment I have a netgear DG834GT which I can put in just modem mode and pass everthing through to something else, its just that something else that still eludes me.

Ive been looking for a way to do this as well for ages.. Smoothwall does it with the Aliasing, but theres no way I can buy that just to be able to use my 8 WAN Ips.. I looked at smoothwall express but it doesnt have that feature
