How the hell do you do a deploy of this? Ive printed off the deploy guide, and it talks about using the deploy configuration wizard etc, but on all the dvds ive tried it just comes up with an installer and not a delpoy wizard. Ive managed to get the licensing server all set up etc fine, i just want to get the stupid software installed onto a machine so I can send the image off to get the new PCs shipped ASAP.

I think ive resolved this. The exchange was set to use the old DC as its main DNS. Changing this, and I can now shut down the old DC and exchange still works fine. Ill give it a week and then demote / delete the old one completely Thanks alll

having a play with forefront for exchange 2010. Seems to be doing its job and blocking spams, but is there any way to get a list of what mails are being blocked? I can get a count in the dashboard, but not any other info. IVe checked eventviewer and dont seem to see anything?

there is no such thing as 32bit 2008r2 and i am running the Core version of 2008r2, ie, no GUI, which is why im struggling with the installer. Are yours core? Nagios is fine on my non-core 2008r2 servers.

I dont seem to have an Exchange Enterprise Servers group, Im only running exchange standard, not sure if that explains it. Also, I dont have a group called Exchange Domain Servers, it is called Exchange Install Domain Servers, is that the same thing?

nothing seems to work without the old one being up.. its a pain that telnet is not installed by default on anything windows these days either! is there something I can run that will show where the roles are based and what the old server might be holding? Also, could you point me into a direction of a guide that would provide me with the steps i need to completely remove the roles, and demote, and retire an old 2008 server? new DC is definately a GC, and so is another DC. Am I safe to just demote the old one do you think?

ok still playing with this test setup. There is a 2008 Server which was the PDC and held the main roles. I want to remove this 2008 server, so I have transferred the FSMO roles to a new 2008r2 dc. To test, I shutdown the 2008 server, but now exchange doesnt work (well, owa, I havent tested outlook). A server that contains information about your user account and mailbox can't be found. Im pretty sure.. I setup a joomla on one of my vhosts as a test, and forgot about it.. For well over a year or more.. Happened to look through my apache logs, and found a whole load of random GETs.. I immediately shut down apache, moved apache over to another box, and moved the other websites (all non-joomla) over to it. I setup password protection on the main site, and only allowed the vhosts I panicked, and deleted the folder which had the stuff which I reckon was the hacked stuff, but in the apache logs, the bad stuff was listed as 66.249.66.129 - - [11/Mar/2011:11:25:46 +0000] "GET /components/com_facileforms/startdownload-Lisa-Gerrard-With-Klaus-Schulze-Come-Quietly-CD-2009-JUST.rar.html HTTP/1.1" but each GET was for a different filename. I did a search, and none of those files appear to be on the local system, but I cannot be 100% sure? IVe reset the root password, and killed apache.. I did a search for the /components/com_facileforms/ and that was a path that appeard within the joomla install, albiet it had a newer creation date than the actual joomla install. I had a quick look at the php files in there, and one seemed to be a re-write of google bot IPS, whichi is probably why all the logs in my access_log for apache resolve to googlebot IPs. I shouldnt have deleted the files so hastily, but I panicked. Since moving the sites (same domains and same IPs) over to a new box, I am still getting a load of hits in the logs, although now they are 401 (access denied I hope?) In our dept, we have an ICT Director. He deals with the board, finalising budgets and getitng them approved, sitting in on meetings, etc and oversees the rest of our department. I am the sys admin, I look after all the servers, infrastructure, etc. I have a guy who maintains all the images, does all the imaging etc, another guy that does all the printers, toners, day to day 'fire fighting' out in classrooms/offices, and someone who runs helpdesk/drop ins. The latter 2 are pretty interchangeable tbh..

without looking at your links, im assuming MS exams from the follow up posts.. most of our traning courses we go on are 5 days. I went on a 3 day course recently, and they skipped a load of chapters, and rushed right through it.. to do the exam, im gonna need to do a load of self labs. But regarding the food.. the place I was at the cantine (which was all free) was amazing. I made it my mission to have one of every single ice lolly in the fridge. I succeeded.

you need more information in that statemnet to make ita "fact" As it stands, it implies that 41% of the entire woman population on the world apply body or hand moisturiser a minimum three times a day. It should state how many people and of what demographic the statistic comes from.. EG, 41% of brittish/european/english/ blah Im sure all the woman in afghanistan, africa, china, etc all dont use it..
