WTF is going on. I guess Ive been living under a rock, but why is the USA, and France, and the UK bombing the place? I understand the UK involvment, as they just do whatever the USA say... What is the purpose? There must be Oil involved? otherwise they would be involving themselves in every other country where the dictators are running amok.... (zimbabwe anyone?) Has it ever been proven of the Libyan sanction of Lockerbie?

we have 5 in our department. The ICT Director goes to all the meetings with the SLT and the board, fights for our budgets, and is the one accountable in the department. That leaves the rest of us to get on with our job of actually managing the network / systems. edit: its not new out here, its how most IT Departments are structured I think.

I did my wifi scan was to show the locations of completely open Wifi access points within walking distance of the school perimiter. The reason was due to the students using wifi on their phones to access *anything* they wanted on the internet, and bringing it in on their phones to school (our school was in a built up residential area) I plotted the Open wifi access points on a map using GPS and Kismet, plotted them onto a Map, and then the school sent out a very nicely worded letter, suggesting they were open to abuse, and offering our service (free of charge) to secure their networks. I walked round with my laptop with a high gain ExpressCard Wifi card, and a $100 GPS usb dongle that would locate its position almost immedaitely. I would recommend using decent gear rather than a phone. (let me know if you want to borrow my gps usb dongle, its sat in my drawer since the day i arrived here)

heatmapper I have tried to use before. It seems intuitive, but requires scale drawings of our premises, which I struggled to procure from any of our departments. It basically involves you loading the maps of the floor/building/etc, and then marking on the map where abouts you are standing. And then repeating that for every room you want to survey. And then it shows what access points it could see at those particular points. In theory, it works well, but its the matching up the scale drawings of to the centimeter of where you are standing, that I failed at obtaining.

thinking back, actually, i think it just dumps the wifi and gps info to a file (csv or such) and then uses a 3rd party, such as google maps to plot them onto a map.

I think my second sentence is quite obvious that I am not arguing with the fact that it is good that money is being raised for charity. If its just one machine, and the rest of your network are KMS activating no problem, I personally wouldnt waste my time on it. I would either use a MAK key, or just reimage it. Not a solution to the problem, but a way round it.

There are a handful of breweries around the world. Off the top of my head, I think they are Russia, USA, Spain.. Will need to check wikipedia.. But aye, alcohol is expensive over here full stop even the local brew. I had hoped it would curtail my drinking, its just costing me more money instead

HAving a think a bit further, and again remembering this is just test setups with only 1 or 2 mailboxes.. Would the following work? At the moment Exchange sits in scotland, the Client Access from the Internet goes to it. If I were to add a second exchange box here in australia, and VPN the two, and create a DAG via the VPN, could I then setup the client access from the internet to go to either exchange? Have mail.mydomain.com resolve to 2 IPs, both of which will process the mail, but will store it in the DAG which is available in both countries? Also means I can have a mx1. and a mx2 right? What would be the best to method to have the 2 sites VPN'd together?
