[joke] Watch IT Technicians at work LIVE

Haha hilarious! -
When I Google mymaths the hit for mymaths website says below it: The website seems to work fine, just any ideas what this means? (Not a major issue I don't think but curious).

**facepalm** the year is set to 10016... Which actually seems a bit odd, as I think it's a 'pre-select' list. However, I can't change it anyway as it's prompting for admin authorisation which it won't accept... - - - Updated - - - I tried this but it told me 'Access denied' - I can't open command prompt as admin either as it won't accept me.

So the CMOS battery went on a PC, and I can't log in to the domain. So I've logged in locally. The date and time are all set to the correct time now, also in the bios. However I still can't connect to the server as it thinks the date and time aren't synchronised. I've tried a few different options to push the synchronisation, however, everything asks for domain admin to authenticate access, but my credentials won't authenticate due to not being connected (I guess?). Anyone know a way around this without re-imaging? Thanks.

So we have the first broken screen on an teachers iPad mini. It's just the glass, the digitiser is working fine. What do you guys do in regards to repairs for them? Thanks.

Think I've done it - but don't want to post my answer in case of spoilers! Happy birthday @plexer !

Just joining in! I did my first one of these last night and actually enjoyed it! I tried it a few years back and got to week 4 or 5 when my friend stopped doing it and I kind of lost motivation without her. So I'm on my own doing it this time and hopefully can get to the point of being able to run 5k - super exciting! Did you all stick rigidly to the 3 times a week or did you do any more? I feel enthusiastic currently and am tempted to go again this evening?

Sorted it - I was trying to install the root certificate update at that is causing issues on a few computers with browsing errors, but couldn't find it anywhere. Anyway, a generic Windows update of about 20/30 updates seems to have sorted it. Not sure which one did it, but it's running again!

Having real problems with this the last couple of days. Now I have 2 PCs which will connect to SchoolComms. After the log-on screen information is entered, the error: "The system cannot make a connection to the Schoolcomms Centre across the Internet. This may be a result of a fault with your Internet connection or because your proxy settings are incorrect. Would you like to check your proxy settings?" The settings are set correctly "Bypass your computer's default proxy". However, if I try and change this setting to 'experiment' it will not save. It says that: "SchoolComms cannot connect through this proxy and port. Confirm that your Internet connection is working and the proxy settings are correct before testing again" The settings are correct. (And actually, on the next opening of Schoolcomms, it has in fact, saved the settings), the internet connection is fine, Schoolcomms was all working up to a few days ago. It's the same for different users on the same machine, so it's not the user. The account works on other machines. One machine presented this problem 2 days ago, another, just today. I've been on the phone to SchoolComms and they're looking into it, but the end user is really struggling with access, so I thought I'd pick your brains!

Weird Non-IT Request of the Day #1 - Identify Signature....

Looks like Sebejdeg / Zebejdega (can't quite see the final letter) to me - but not Google hits for that. -
Haha!!

So one of our old HP 4200 is on its way out - after 15 years or more of service. It's a shame to replace it, as in my experience, newer printers just don't last like this one did. Can anyone recommend a sturdy printer, without crazy expensive toners, which would be a suitable for a computer suite of 31 computers? Thanks

Ooo nice! Pricey though! But I like it!

As above really. I need an msi for notepad++ and I found an old thread on here with one, but it's the previous version now. Thanks.

Good for her! I've thought about doing the same, but your daughter is actually doing it, that's fantastic. Hope she hits the target.

Ooo I loved Theme Hospital - which I replayed recently when Origin gave it away for free briefly. Only problem was you'd occasionally 'lose' with no apparent reason which was frustrating. Never completed it!

So I've got a problem with a PoE IP camera not connecting, not showing as online etc. It did this before and we reset it completely to factory defaults and reconfigured it and that seemed to solve it. But it only lasted a short time before it went again. It seem to flicker between off and online every couple of seconds. Looking at the switch it connects through, the port it's on is showing a very high number of Rx errors (over 2000!). Any clues? Thanks!

So we've used App Inventor before now, but our IT staff decided to move onto AppShed. They aren't overly happy with it (I don't know the ins and outs yet). What are other people using? Thanks.

No we never get to go! I really want to! Have a great time!!

Just a friendly Merry Christmas and best new year wishes to everyone. I know some people are still working early next week, but you can re-read this on the day you finish for a well deserved rest :-)

I can't believe the difference SSD's has made to our old kit. They're like new machines...!
