We use reserved addresses in a specific range to identify and apply different web filtering to student and staff devices, and that new feature could have caused us some real problems. I've now updated the Wi-Fi Authorisation profile on Mosyle Manager to Disable Association MAC Randomization.

I was thinking about going to see this at the weekend so I'm glad to see the positive reviews here. The local community cinema needs all the support it can get, so I'll be doing my bit for a good cause at the same time.

You won't believe what happened to my last couple of pairs of VeryPC socks. I used to have a blue pair and a purple pair. Now, for some reason, I can only find an odd pair of socks: one blue sock and one purple sock. Even stranger than that, I have another pair of odd socks exactly the same! Spoooooky! Anyway, I've just claimed a red pair of socks, as I don't have any other red socks*. I dread to think what would happen if I were sent a navy pair as well! (*Come to think of it, I don't have any navy socks either!)

Yeah, like that's gonna happen when I collapse onto my bed, barely capable of even getting my socks off in the first place!

Try using a blob of blu-tac*. Press it on firmly and leave it somewhere cool, so it's not too stretchy, then try to pull it up in one go (rather than peeling it) and it may bring the button up with it. (*Other colours of 'tac' are available.)

Would you believe that something as simple as plugging the PC into a different network socket did the trick? It's using the same IP address as before, only now it works!

Hi all Over the summer, I re-imaged one of our IT suites using MDT and WDS. Every machine imaged successfully apart from 2, which reported a DHCP lease issue. This is what happens: PXE Boot over IP4 - WDS Boot Manager shows correct Client/Server IP addresses Download NBP Select operating system - Loads WIM from MDT\WDS server Processing Bootstrap Settings - Gathering Complete It then presents a Wizard Error - A connection to the deployment share could not be made. DHCP Lease was not obtained for any networking device! Possible cause: Check physical connection. If I click cancel, it presents a command prompt. Running ipconfig shows a valid IP address, which is visible in both DHCP and DNS. If I release the IP address, and try again, a correct IP address is picked up on the next try, but the same error occurs. If I renew the IP address, it picks up a correct address. I've tried deleting the IP address from DHCP and DNS - same error. I've even set up a reservation in DHCP, which the machine picks up and uses. Surely this shows that it has obtained a DHCP lease, doesn't it? All the other PCs are identical, have the same BIOS settings, and have had no problems. Any suggestions, anyone?

Oo! Oo! Please, miss, I know this one.* If you have washed a feather-filled coat/pillow/duvet, putting a tennis ball inside the tumble dryer along with the item helps to puff up the filling and prevent it going flat. *Not sure about ‘folds wonderfully’ bit, though.
