I am staggered at how many supposedly intelligent people have swallowed Government hype designed to socially engineer support to take money from the vulnerable in society. Say what you like, there are many vulnerable people , you pass in the street every day who are not smoking, drinking, watching sky sports who are truely suffering under these measures. The ATOS Tests are a disgrace. If you can walk across a room you can work. Who would hire someone who can't walk from the bus stop? And if they walk across a room have to sit down for 20 minutes puffing and panting... Walking 20 paces is quite different to a days work. Society is judged by how it treats the vulnerable, I have seen the other side of a lot of people here and it saddens me greatly. Not only by their lack of compassion but even more so that they are prepared villify the vulnerable without getting themselves properly informed. Volunteer at food bank for a couple of months, meet a spectrum of the people you are talking about. Then post again and give me some quantitive evidence that the level of cuts is justified and there are adequate safeguards in place and I add rep to every post you've ever made.

Sounds like signal loss, particularly with the loss of sound quality. You should really limit USB to 5m to be on the safe side. This will be to the device so you have to add any length from the faceplate, in the trunking to the device. Could also be cross-over interferance. Does the cable run close to any speaker, Phone, flourecent light, School bell etc? What happens if you plug a laptop in to the device with a nice short USB cable?

Did he get his figures THAT wrong? He's now making cuts totalling 40%. Should someone who got it wrong by 3900% really be running the country? If a teacher predicted that 40% of their students would get C or above and only 1 did (the same margin of error as Mr Cameron) what would their ofsted inspector say?

Now I have actually read the article I am even more convinced that that he is astoundingly out of touch. "He said school plays, sports clubs, orchestras and debating competitions helped to "build character and instil grit"." How many schools don't have all this going NOW? Coupled with the increasing trend for Breakfast clubs to offer Wrap Around care and it's already happening. But then again this could be Mr Gove following the example of his task master and deliberately mis-leading the debate. Extending the school day and after school clubs are two entirely different things. We need to know what he's actually talking about before we can decide. But then again, so does Mr Gove. Tecchies probably won't be affected to any greater degree than they are now. And there's always the 48 hour/week opt out . Until this co-attrition decide to abolish that too.

Most schools I know are going with O365. Google just feels cobbled together. If you look into it and do a comparison I dare say there is very little in it. Set up an account on each and try them out. The only school I have any dealings with that has gone GoogleDocs is now re-considering after less than a year.

The cabling in the wall/ceiling should be solid copper core. This will break if flexed to any greater degree. Therefore terminating it in a patch panel is the way to go. I've said it before I;ll say it again. At least look at Centrastage for remote support. You can script anything you like to run remotely. And still have all the remote access you need. It will also give you a complete audit of your PC hardware and software. You can set it to flag up any changes. You can auto deploy apps to your entire estate without logging on to each computer.... You can even set up alerts that will trigger an email and raise calls automatically when certain contitions are met. Edit: and one particularly good feature I like is it will log all your activity on any given system so you can print out a report showing you have done 1.2 hr at this time, 2 hours at that time. Great for billing!
