I don't think you can go wrong with HP - they are reasonably priced and I have had no problems with them. Something like HP 530 Laptop Intel Celeron M 520 1x 1GB 120GB brightview 15.4" widescreen DVDRW WLAN Vista Home Basic (Office 07 Ready *Trial) - Ebuyer I would prefer XP though.

No problems whatsoever, make sure you uninstall office 2003 before you go ahead with 2007 or you may experience problems.

Isn't moneygram similar to western union, as in no insurance? Don't think eBay would cover you on that would they? Can you post the link to the auction?

We had 6 Brand new fujitsu siemens and a drive was dead on arrival, rather than swapping over the drives by couier. They sent an engineer out to us with a new drive, who then fitted it! Was most impressed!

We use Ranger here, pretty powerful piece of software - occasionally timeouts on login sometimes. Few known clashes with Sophos as well.

Run a restore disk? Or I've created a bootable mem stick - takes about 2mins to flash it back to the factory default.

She was using it on windows computers before, but now it doesn't work after putting it in a mac. The files are not the problem, I've retrieved them using a data recovery software, but I can't get the memory stick functioing properly - keeps saying do you want to format.
