  1. Hmm, yeah. I guess it's useful if you want to use one of the Google apps upon loading Chrome. However, most teachers have Gmail as a pinned tab, being the first thing they log into first thing in the morning, and then all apps are a click away in the waffle menu anyway.
  2. What does this provide that the 'waffle button' doesn't??
  3. Amazingly, we managed to get away from MLS without a problem. We just said we wanted to cancel and they let us. We've been happily using Libresoft for a couple of weeks now. Half the price, an easier-to-use interface and a support team that actually replies and fixes any issues very promptly!
  4. It's ridiculous and unacceptable. I'm just waiting for SLT to give me the go ahead, which I can't see them not doing!
  5. I'm in the same boat. I emailed MLS last week to ask about the notice period but not heard a peep. I contacted Libresoft which looks very good from the demo video and is much cheaper. They reckon MLS require 3 months notice. Libresoft will do all of the data transfer stuff.
  6. All fun and games. We're finding that the 'Unlock Circulate' step needs to be done every morning now. Both in IE and Chrome, the setting is 'forgotten' by the next day.
  7. I expect you just need them to reset your admin password so you can re-enable the circulate button.
  8. I logged a support ticket yesterday morning and got this reply email yesterday afternoon- We have had reports this morning of an issue whereby circulate appeared locked even when logged in as the administrator, there was no provision for unlocking it as normal and when going into management the group and user manager boxes were blank. This issue has now been resolved by our development team. You may need to close and reload your browser in order for the fix to take full effect.
  9. Yeah, things just break for no good reason on Junior Librarian. You'll probably have to contact the MLS/Capita support team then, but don't expect a quick reply.
  10. Click the Login button and use the administrator details (not the 'Librarian' user). You should then see a 'settings' tab appear at the top of the window where you should find the 'Unlock circulate' checkbox. Once selected, you can log out of the admin account and Circulate should remain enabled. Having said that, yesterday morning there was a bug which prevented the Circulate button being enabled, even after using the admin login!
  11. Working again now.
  12. Looks like they've been 'updating' the system over the weekend. Now 'Circulate' is greyed out (even after logging in as admin) and the usual tick box 'Unlock Circulate' in the settings section is completely missing!!
  13. I hope the rumours are wrong. They told me in February that the free features would remain free.
  14. It doesn't have the exact model of our printer either, but I chose the nearest match and it works.
  15. When adding the printer in the admin portal, what did you put in the 'URI' section? We use 'ipp' and specified the IP address of the printer but left the other fields blank.
  16. Was that enough notice for them?
  17. Don't be silly. That would have involved far too much work for them
  18. Hairy Letters
  19. To be fair to them, they did send an email on 6th July...
  20. We use the 'native printing'- https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/7276100?hl=en
  21. I would use Slides instead of Docs (set the page size to A4 dimensions). The trouble with Docs is it doesn't play well with text boxes. Either you use a table which gets larger as you type and therefore messes up the structure of the template, or you have to insert a text box via 'Insert' -----> 'Drawing', which I find is quite blurry and distorted when printed. Slides can behave more like Publisher so the text boxes stay the same size.
  22. Yeah, just started using it. I quite like it, but as with everything, it takes a little while to adjust.
  23. I would also recommend Mosyle. We use the free version.
  24. We used XMA (Home)
