  1. This doesn't seem to be working for me. I've enabled the 'Turn off Microsoft consumer experiences' policy but I'm still seeing the Candy Crush and Minecraft tiles when I login as a student. Any ideas?
  2. All apps or just one app? Have you tried restarting the iPad? Have you checked to see if there's an update for the app(s)?
  3. Anyone else had issues with Cloud Print on Chromebooks? A class were using them the other day and only had 'Save to PDF' listed in their printer options. I logged in 15 mins later with one of the student accounts and find both of our printers listed. I'm the only ICT Technician in the school and I hadn't changed any settings in those 15 mins. I suppose it's still a beta product so these things should be expected, but it's annoying!
  4. What I do is: - Download the codes from the VPP - Use one to Redeem the app in iTunes - Import the app into Configurator - Re-download the codes from VPP - Use that 2nd spreadsheet to import into Configurator
  5. The answer lies here- https://support.google.com/a/answer/60218
  6. I think I've just answered my own question! I did more hunting around in the Google Admin Console and noticed there's a section near the bottom under the heading 'Print Preview Default'. Normally it's set to 'Use default print behaviour' but you can change it to 'Define the default printer'. When you do that a new set of options appear below. You can select the printer type- 'Cloud & Local printers', 'Cloud only' or 'Local only'. Of course we want Cloud Only to avoid this annoying problem of Chromebooks not being able to print to the local ones. You can then specify the name of the default printer. Just tested on a Chromebook and it works. Only strange thing is that they appear under the 'Local destinations' section instead of the 'Cloud Print' section. Maybe because the Chromebook is currently in school, connected to the same LAN as the printer? But if that was the case, tethering the CB to my phone would make them appear in the Cloud Print section, but it doesn't. Anyway, as long as it works, I don't care.
  7. Hi, Sorry to resurrect an old thread but we've just got Chromebooks and I've come across the same problem as the original poster (although we're not using Papercut). Was this problem ever resolved? I shared the printers using the Google admin console and they worked perfectly for a few days and then suddenly stopped. I'm now seeing the same printers in the Local Destinations section as in the Google Cloud Print section. Crazy that Chromebooks have been used in so many schools for years and we're still getting issues like this.
  8. I feel your pain
  9. Hmmm, thankfully Apple devices "just work" or have they decided to drop that tagline now??
  10. There's also the option of using an app like 'Simple Transfer'.
  11. Ok, so if you downgraded to iOS 8 using iTunes and that website and then connected to Configurator 1.7.2, it wouldn't let you supervise the device?
  12. Can't you roll back to iOS 8 using iTunes and this website?- Download Firmware (IPSW) Files for iOS Devices
  13. This app lets you transfer pics and vids between devices- https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/simple-transfer-wireless-photo/id420821506?mt=8
  14. We also went for Airserver at school.
  15. Gmail recently added support for other accounts so they should work fine.
  16. Try using the Gmail app instead.
  17. That could have been embarrassing. You're welcome
  18. For number 2, don't you swipe right instead of left?
  19. Sorry to dig up an old(ish) thread. Has anyone started using Smart Notebook 14 yet? How are you finding it compared to 10/11? We're currently using version 10 here but I'm aware we'll need to upgrade at some point in the near future. We did try out 11 but it was horrendously slow.
  20. I think I just reboot Configurator, disconnect and reconnect the iPad when I get that error.
  21. I guess so. I've not had the problem myself so I can't guarantee the steps above will fix it. If you export the expired certificate to the desktop before you delete it from the keychain then you have that as a backup if anything dodgy happens. Just make sure to quit Configurator before deleting.
  22. Someone posted this on the Apple forum- Make some screen shots from the expired certificate, export it (backup) and delete it with the Keychain Access App. Apple Configurator will create a new certificate at the next app start. Validity again for one year. The Keychain certificates are named: Apple Configurator - public key Apple Configurator - private key Steps: Quit Configurator if running. From Keychain Access export both certificates to the Desktop. Delete the 2 certificates from Keychain Access. Restart Configurator - this should generate 2 new, valid certificates. If this works then the backup of the old certificates can be deleted.
  23. There's a page here which may help- AirServer | My device does not discover or connect t... Also install Bonjour- https://support.apple.com/kb/DL999?locale=en_GB and DirectX- DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer June 2010 Download - Softpedia
  24. I haven't used it but we do use Airserver which works well at our school.
