  1. Does anyone know of any good educational handwriting apps for iPad? Looking at possibly buying an iPad pro + pen for improving handwriting. Are there any specific apps like this out there at the moment? Thanks everyone!
  2. We're also an SEN school and we use STM Dux cases on all models of iPad we have. Only had around 3 smashed screens in the past 3 years which I don't think is bad at all for us
  3. +1 for the VeryPC thinbook's, you can "Pick & Mix" with the spec's to your choosing, only our first lot from them but we will certainly be looking to buy some more in the future. @VeryPC_Colin_M can sort you out
  4. What does everyone use for labelling assets? We have a label printer but the labels are often easily peeled off by students on our laptops. We don't really want those stickers/labels that leave a horrible watermark/mess after peeled either. Thanks in advance!
  5. No profiles are stored on server, all done locally.
  6. @DaveP - yeah also tried running a malwarebytes etc and nothing was found, Sophos has been disabled and still doesn't work @Tesla - Thanks for the link will give that a go when I'm back in front of the Head's PC.
  7. Thanks for the reply, however they are no chrome processes running in taskmgr, when I attempt to load chrome 3 of the processes appear in task manager for a few seconds then all disappear.
  8. Hi All, In one of the schools I support the Headteacher's PC in his office has suddenly decided it doesn't want to launch chrome. Logged on as another user and chrome works fine. So this obviously pointed me towards a profile issue, however after deleting the profile and deleting the corresponding registry entry. Still the same outcome. Tried all the obvious things first like reinstalling chrome, using both online/offline installers, several reboots, Windows updates all up to date etc etc. Im a bit confused to why it just won't work Any help as always is greatly appreciated! Elliot
  9. Hi All, Dont know wether this is a stupid question or not but looking for some quick advice. Our school really wants to have Minecraft available on around 20 PC's and as the Edu version is currently not available as Microsoft have now bought it and intend on selling licences for £5 per user, this makes things difficult for us as we want it available on 20 PC's and not just for 20 hand-picked users. As an avid gamer I know that there is a possibility of renting a Minecraft 'Gameserver' but was wondering if there is any issues this could raise? Obviously the server would be passworded and the IP wouldnt be given out. It seems the cheapest option for us at the moment to give our students the opportunity to use Minecraft. Any advice is greatly appreciated as always. Elliot
  10. Hi all, I have been asked by our IT Co-ordinator to run a 'Wise Geeks' club one day a week and was wondering if anyone else has been asked/runs something similar and if so, are you able to help with some ideas for projects we could run within the club? The school is an SEN school so it can't be as technical as some of your main stream schools, however I don't want to bore them with the usual build/take apart a PC etc. We have some good resources which include a small set of iPads, a few Raspberry Pi's and for some reason even an Xbox 360. I do believe i'll have access to a small amount of the budget if there is something worth while to purchase. Any ideas/inspiration would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Elliot
  11. We use Zendesk http://www.zendesk.com and havent had any problems with it since we started using it 3 years ago now. It's web based and cheap as chips if you just go for the starter edition which is all we use, it also has apps available for android and iOS which means you can pick up jobs on the go if needs be.
  12. Were looking on a whole school scale of IT assets so as you say regardless of wether they're networked or not. Thanks for all the responses everyone there all appreciated.
  13. How much did they quote you? As i've had a quick look over there website etc and it seems to be good, but if the price is extreme then its just not worth it I dont think.
  14. TME
  15. The products available in the VLSC which have product keys are products that are covered within your school license and can rightfully use. Usually you can buy your license by seat (PC/Workstation) or per user I think (not 100% on that).
