  1. Hi Just wondering which helpdesk software people use? We have been using Spiceworks for a couple of years which is ideal for our IT Deparment. However as it has been going so well we are now looking to roll out a helpdesk across multiple departments (Estates, Catering, Marketing etc) who are all surprisingly buying in to the idea... I am intersted in one that does multiple departments and is on-site (our broadband can be a little iffy due to location) and is simple to use for not IT literate deparments So far I have come across Vision helpdesk, Kayako, Sysaid and Webhelpdesk who all seem to tick most of the boxes. Any suggestions or experiences would be gratefully received
  2. Hi We are currently looking to move over to Office 365 from our exchange / AD environment I have a few security concerns as we have children in the school from the age of 3 upwards so we need a very locked down system Does anyone have any advice experience of the following: Restricting Office 365 logon so it can only be accessed by email addresses with the @schooldomain.co.uk (i.e stop pupils from accessing their own personal O365 accounts) Monitoring emails viewing stored files Restricting any social media aspects of O365 Apologies if this has already been answered in other posts but I couldn't see a clear discussion on this and MS aren't particularly helpful Thanks
  3. Hi We are just moving from our existing provider and looking for 5 new photocopiers (A3, A4, A5, Scan, Email, Stapler etc) Anyone got any recommendations on hardware and the service provided by either the vendor or hardware manufacturer? We will likely go for a managed service including toners and full service contract Thanks
  4. We are looking to upgrade / replace our current firewall (Sonicwall NSA4500) with a new one due to soon hosting a parent portal and an ever increasing influx of mobile devices and tablets in the school. We need to link with Active Directory, have very good anti-spam, web filtering, real-time and historic reports, NAT forwarding and work well with terminal servers. Currently I have been advised that Fortigate FG300D is a good option (though the cost is prohibitive as you have to buy a separate reporting device and no edu discount or incentive), Sonicwall are coming back with info on what they recommend (tho' support not great), also interested in anyone's experience of Untangle and Smoothwall in a school environment.
  5. GREED, I did contact them and have spoken to their Sage provider - however I am looking to see who has got real world experience here of using different financial packages and the integration provided before making final decisions.
  6. elsiegee40 who did you use for your Sage provider the 20k included installation etc?
  7. Does anyone have any experience on integrating a finance package with iSams? I am aware they integrate well with Sage 200, but at £20,000+ for a 2 user finance system it seems exorbitant. We currently have PASS (I know the integration is very limited) and I'm interested in possibly porting to Sage 50 or any other finance package which is a bit more user friendly... advice / experience would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. We've just started rolling out Windows 8.1 - We are using Classic Shell to bring back the windows 7 start menu (which is free). This we have controlled through GPO and a quick registry edit, works really well and we've also rolled it out on several Windows 8.1 tablets.
