Actually use Windows Updates for Business and WUDO (if bandwidth if an issue). WSUS is struggling these days with the size of Windows 10 or updates. If you just want to delay updates. It requires some GPOs targeted at AD groups. You also need active hours to be configured correctly and some sort of maintenance window. There's also a powershell module to trigger windows updates.

Time to pretentiously reply to my own post... I got this working today it seems to work and the Onedrive Sync client does work with the per machine installer with the latest rolling out client. The high CPU from the sync client is a concern but we will only know after testing with real users.

Or upgrade to Server 2019!

If your a FE/HE org you are probably using Shibboleth and/or UK Federation. Basically put your can't move that workload to AzureAD easily. You could just move authnetication for Office365 to PTA or password hash sync. It seems overkill just to get licencing working correctly.

It's probably not been tested with LTSC and/or roaming profiles. Try a local profile and see if it works. I'd also not logon to a PC as domain admin. Use a local admin account instead.

I wouldn't just delete the local profiles use delprof2 run as system not a local admin. FSLogix containers have been acquired by MS. If you have Microsoft 365 E3 or above you can use them. Basically roams the profile as a vhdx but under the OS. The OS just thinks its a local profile. The real question is which settings need roaming?

Does a user called _Device_ exist and does have a A1 Plus for students licence? I think you do need the plus licences. Its a dark art with licencing. Yes you get A1 Plus by licensing thtrough OVS or similar. However MS are transitioning to Microsoft 365 so we may have to use SCA at some point. Though I've found with RDS and ADFS sometimes there is a delay and a user is unlicensed. This is only in Server 2016 RDS and I think MS shouldn't have supported Office 365 Proplus on RDS.

DBA actually creates an Azure AD account per PC/Laptop for DBA and licences with A1. I've had to delete the odd Device user when it won't activate.

Yep and SSO may not work as Seamlessly. I kinda like the store model. It makes updates easier and there is a shared app storage group policy setting.

You could provison the user and configure SSO. Just be aware that only 200 concurrent users can use Adobe software at anytime.

Did you have to extract it from Amber? The Photos / Videos app seems to work. There are a few free apps and Adobe Premiere Rush if your licenced.

Sounds like you need the data indexed to find the personal data. Then move that and give permissions where required.
