Thanks for the replies and advice all. I've had a demo of the Fortigate solution and felt it seemed very much cobbled together and as you say, didn't feel particuarly education focused with that in mind. As we are looking to replace our WiFi too I thought it may be nice under one roof, but I didn't think it suited our needs. Our firewall is currently externally managed via our ISP. Hi All, I'm after some web filter recommendations to what you and your schools are currently using for web filter solutions, or any ones to stay well clear of! We currently have a lightspeed rocket in place that has been great and love, and does everything we want it to do, then only concern I have is with this now being out of warranty if this was to suddenly go pop! I have looked and had a play around with the new relay/lightspeed filter from lightspeed and I haven't been too overly convinced by this, and seems to have lost a lot of features that we currently use on our rocket. Our current setup is all our networked PCs have the user agent installed which authenticates the user against AD, then get the appropriate filtering based on rule sets we set. BYOD devices we manage whereby a student joins the WiFi, they authenticate against the Captive Portal, then this will then let them browse for one day before needing to be re-authenticated. Our class set iPads students also authenticate using the captive portal and log in and out of the WiFi that way. I'm keen to stick to being able to set policies easy based on users/groups from AD along with being able to adjust filtering based on IP too. We are looking over the summer to refresh our WiFi APs etc and have been recommended the Fortinet route with the Fortigate controller that can also act as a web filter and wondered if anyone has had experience with this? Hi Guys, I am in the process of migrating away from our old WDS/MDT Server for a clean start and have spun up a brand new vm running srv 2019. This has both got WDS and MDT installed. MDT Works a treat, and have also created a capture image for capturing the sys prepped Images I've made which also works great too. On booting to PXE Boot to install an image that's been captured, I am finding that all PC's seem to hang and some seem hit and miss and in general this seems very slow too. I've found I can maybe get 2/3 PCs connected then the others will get fobbed off and not connect. On our current Server running WDS/MDT we could have a whole IT Suite going in one go and had no issues. The PXE Screen on the PC's gets the PCs get stuck / hangs for a while on: 'Downloaded WDSNBP from (IP Address) WDSNBP Started using DHCP Referral Contacting Server: (IP Address) Gateway...... Architecture: x64 Contacting Server: (IP Address) TFTP Download: boot\x86\wdsnbp.com Downloaded WDSNBP From (IP Address) Architecture: x64 Contacting server: (IP Address) TFTP Download: boot\x64\pxeboot.n12 Our Old WDS MDT Server that was also running Server 2019 is set up in exactly the same way and from the PC's PXE booting to them, this finds the server in the matter of seconds, then you can choose from the Image bank, capture an image, or boot to MDT. In general this seems really fast! The same settings and setup that I have replicated across. I've also got the the driver packages on there too. I've also gone through adding both new 64 and 32bit images for boot images as well in case that was the issue. The version of windows 10 we are using is Windows 10 Enterprise N LTSC 2019 (1809.) We've got the NRS system at my School. Canteen staff often radio so we have to come running down saying 'Tills are down!!!' like others have said often they freeze up and biometrics don't work. Usually we end up going into manager mode and re initialising both the tills and finger print scanner units. - Usually cures it! All of our tills were wi-fi tills and they are crap! Stay away we have managed to finally hard wire them in so a tad faster! They are running xp embedded which NRS say it will cost us to upgrade them. Hoping to get a new system in soon we have looked at CRB Cunninghams and then NRS again - cunninghams was a lot more expensive! Daily the reval controller doesn't work so often you have to reboot the software to that NRS have looked and 'fixed' this many a time and still does it! We have nearly completed our move to Wndows 10 and I rang them up the other day said we have 5x pcs that require the truste software and said it is £125.00 a pop! We cant afford that! I said we have already paid last time for it and its the same PCs!... Managed to get the install files form them and figure it out myself in the end. - So now we can have it on as many pc's as we like! :-) On reading the install notes it says when installing the truste setup.exe you may encounter two error messages - the advice in the read me file was just to ignore both of them which fills you full of hope!

Hi All, I'm currently making a new image for our IT Suites ready for our summer roll our of windows 10 N LTSC across our domain. I have installed the latest version of scratch offline editor along with the latest version of Adobe air. Upon running scratch on a student log in we get an Adobe Air error window pop up saying "adobe air initial content could not be loaded for this application...." This all loads fine as domain admin though. We have checked web filtering in case it was that but that's all good. Could it be C:\\ Drive access preventing students using Scratch as currently this is a hidden drive for them? Any ideas? Cheers, Sam
