    I don't think there's much of a difference between .cmd and .bat (only Error level reporting). Are you running it as an application, or trying to call it as a command line?

    Which OS are you trying to apply the .Reg to? When I was deploying a .Reg in Windows 7, I just used regedit.exe /s background.reg called from a batchfile, which was in turned called as an app by MDT.

    Yes, they can coexist happily. You'll find that Java updates prompted for from the updater however, only seem to apply to the 32-Bit version!

    Right click on the installer, and go to Properties Under the Compatibility tab, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows XP SP3". I'd also look at running the installer with Admin Privileges.
