It sounds like you're hitting F8 too early, and ending up with a BIOS selection notification. I'd turn the PC on, give it a slow 10 count, then start pressing F8. You're looking for the Windows Advanced Options menu.

Cheap Office 2010 is going to be the sticking point. To get Office 2010 with Outlook, you're probably looking at Home and Business 2010... which is selling for £235 on Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Office-Home-Business-Product/dp/B0039L50J8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1374497714&sr=8-2&keywords=ofice+2010)

Isn't that the wrong question to ask?

Lenovo ThinkPad T410 ( Replace DC IN Cable )

Don't know if this is any different to what you've got: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/63y0535_01.pdf -
A lot of this comes down to how you're wanting to configure your network. While I use Windows 8 at work and home, I don't need to consider GP and Security (proxy in TIFKAM IE) implications. I'm sure that there's been various questions asked in the Windows 8 Forum here, to guide you to some of the potential pitfalls you may face. Windows 8.1 -MAY- resolve some of these problems, but as it's rumoured to be going to RTM at the end of August, it may not be available for the beginning of the next school year.

[ipad] iPad Mini, Apple TV and Airplay Screen Resolution
VeryPC_Tom_M replied to Dos_Box's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
It's an interesting question! https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4461302 mentions streaming to 1080p, but the TV and Video section of the specs page (Apple (United Kingdom) - iPad mini - Technical specifications) is a little woollier. -
Installing Intel driver EXE using the appropriate command-line switches
VeryPC_Tom_M replied to penfold's topic in Windows
There's an MSI already in the folder structure if you unzip the Intel driver install executable. If you unzip it, it'll be found in: apps\prosetdx\win(xx)\prosetdx.msi
