If you had them in your domains they would only do what your google domain told them to. they cant be configured outside of that

Since the school website gets as much traffic as youd expect so its on a pretty small droplet, while im not sure what the connection of the droplet is to the internet im sure it would be easy to exhaust if a few people requested the 30gb video i had to put up last week.. that and the storage they would use would make me have to buy extra space to keep them

if youre using a transparent proxy the exception you want is under guardian > exceptions > destination exceptions chuck in the papercut server ip. this should stop anything going via the proxy on that port, though not sure if thats transparent only I

WSUS - only some Server 2012 clients showing up...
DGardiner replied to kennysarmy's topic in Enterprise Software
is the WSUS server ip in the Guardian > Exceptions > destination exceptions on the smoothwall. the 407 sounds like the smoothwall is trying to get authentication from it? assuming this isnt wsus trying to authenticate. if you replace the ip with fqdn does it work? check your smoothwalls live log and see if you can spot the browsing to the base IIS directory in the logs, AFAIK the smoothwall wont serve pages from ports unless explicitly told to (80/443 by default) - ideally you would make the smoothwall not serve the internal content though -
Yeah id be ringing xma asap to try and get that nipped! enjoy that mess

if you ask nicely most suppliers will push them into DEP anyway restrospectively.

we have fortinet in some of our schools, not through my choice like - sent the provider a copy of our smoothwall reports to replicate as its an amazing product hurhurhurh and can do better! then that email chain quickly dried up

and id rather a false positive than a missed emergency, instant alerts on the smoothwall and a nightly "sh*t list" to read through take a couple of minutes to scan over. Sophos did look nice last time we looked at it but the lack of edu focused reporting/alerts won it for smoothwall. many dns based filtering is childsplay to work around, ill pass.

that said, my mate has the cloud licencing where unifi host the controller and it was £1-£2 per ap for a 3 year licence or something, defo something to take a look at. That said the cloud keys are cheap enough
