Everything W11 even if its not supported, In place upgrades usually will not work as it checks the specs of the machines, but a wipe and rebuild striaght to the latest H2 is working for us. (Non of our staff machines are below spec however and take the roll ups as normal) We too have a few 250's.

turns out you can copy Logic Pro 11 (the logicprox.app folder) from one machine to another and it will work. licenced, only thing you need to do is update the file association. (I did have to compress it to a zip to copy it, then extract on the new machine)

Can confirm this happens with Mosyle. Got a call from music in the last hour... half our machines have taken the update... now not licenced. (but weirdly some still have 11 as well as 12.. 11 work, 12 licence fails) Oh and just turned off app updates to save the rest..

Solved it myself. Turns out user needs access to the MS store as well, we have it disabled for staff and students.

I have a user who wishes to use the "New" Version of outlook. Ok fine No worries here. However when they try and open it they get the message "Your account does not have permission to access the new Outlook on Windows,Choose another account or manually add an exsisting Office subscription" I've tried the user on Office A1, Office A3, and even Microsoft A3, Both the A3's should come with Outlook? User is able to use the 2024 LTSC version of outlook with no issue (licenced though volume) Any Ideas? I've tried things like profile resets already.

Morning all. Currently collecting data ive been asked for off our various platforms, and one of the things been asked for are "any communications" now I've managed to include any unencrypted communications. (exchange 365) however i've noticed the "you have new egress" mails being captured, but not the actual content. (not supprising considering its an end2end encryption platform). Do you know if theres anyway to include the content of these egress mails? Does anyone else include them? if so how? I'm not sure asking each indivicual user to go though their egress mails and forward anything on is appropriate? (and if thats the only way then surely that sits outside searchable or indexed infomation?

If it was for me, then.. its a separate physical network and devices, with no net access.

No they don't, hence it was an issue getting pip installed.

Ok, we are a school that were onsite microsoft 100% (2019) we moved over to google workspace, all our cloud services Google based. We have this year taken the view that only "One" solution does not fit us. So we are moving to a hybid of services, picking the service from each platform which suites us better... (Classroom Vs Teams... Exchange Vs gMail... Sharepoint Vs Shared Drives). As we are using our Onsite AD as the source of all our... Syncrinizations most account details end up being the same, passwords certainly do. It too is our intention to keep the students on Google, (bar email accounts), as for them its more suited. Staff will end up using Mircrosoft more.

We had a simalar need, in the end we opted for a rollable "lab" basically its a cab on wheels, with a VM host (VM's being the exploitable targets), managed switch, and an aruba instant 505 AP. In addition we repurposed older laptops, as the student client machines and placed them in a trolley next to it. All machine macs have been blocked from the main network, (yes I know its not perfect) When they have need, the roll both out, plug it in (power) and everything including the VM's fire up. after a few moments the AP broadcasts the Lab wifi They then are able to run though the lesson, at the end of the lesson teacher his the power on the VM host, which gracefully shuts down the VM's and powers off. Only issue I've really had is when the laptops needed pip installing... was a bit of a nightmare as everything was blocked from access the main network.

Morning All, From the looks of it, the Microsoft A3/A5 are the replacement for the old school Desktop Packs we purchased under our OVE/EES Based on our schools FTE count. Can some one confirm weather if we purchase A3/A5 for our staff would we still need to purchase the Desktop Packs? Cos from the PDFs I've read it seems like a straight swap? (This is what we purchased last year under our OVS "Microsoft® Desktop Education All Languages License & Software Assurance Open Value Level F 1 Year Academic Enterprise "

Been trying to define "Organisational data" Obviously things like our MIS, Finance systems, Drives, Emails etc are included. However what about platforms like Sam Learning? or Accelerated Reader? Platforms that are cloud based, and have things like student names in. My first instinct would be "Yes". However I'm now looking at needing to be able to control access (secure passwords etc) on these platforms and finding the ability to do so is woefully inadequate? Anyone got any thoughts on this? (I did try searching the forms but could see any results)

Cyber Essentials - BYOD
Areku replied to georgeescott's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Afternoon, Sorry for bit of a necro, But Ive just started going though the paper work and come across the BYOD / Personal device issue everyone seems to be talking about (picked up from reading the Cyber Essentials:Requirements for IT infrastructure document) Our Staff are 1:1 devices, but do we need to count students as well? Technically they do access things like email, and shared drives? (though nothing that would be considered Business specific MIS/Finance etc) It seemed in the requirement document we should include ALL users? but students? really? Thoughts?
