Does the client reconnect if connectivity is lost? This used to be an issue.

Someone fancied a brand new network? (Fire at West Sussex school)
Edu-IT replied to Andrew_C's topic in General Chat
"At this stage we believe the most likely cause of the fire was accidental ignition caused by a workman carrying out maintenance on the roof. There is no evidence to support online speculation that this was arson. The first of more than sixty 999 calls made to the Sussex Control Centre was from a roofer to say a partition on the roof was alight at 07:54." https://www.westsussex.gov.uk/news/selsey-academy-fire-linked-to-roofing-work/ -

@brightonsnapper on Twitter has some aerial photographs. Scary to think about the scale of this! -

I too was wondering whether it would be anyone on here. Scary what can happen and definitely makes you think twice about disaster recovery. I guess there's no indication yet on the cause of the fire? Aside from IT, there's all the students work that will have been destroyed. -
Nationwide Retail Systems with Paxton Integration
Edu-IT replied to jdoldridge's topic in How do you do....it?
You'll perhaps be better to move to MiFare now as going forward there's a good chance you'll be able to get them to work with other software solutions as opposed to the Paxton cards.- 8 replies

Good to hear. That's described in the article above, should anyone else come across the issue. -

So is it crashing before you even set the profile up? -
I know Nationwide Retail Systems have the chassis custom built for them but use coin and note mechanisms from http://www.microcoin.com/display.asp?entityid=879

inthehive email migration
Edu-IT replied to nathan's topic in East Midlands Broadband Consortium (EMBC)
You can't do those that way, it's mail only. There's paid for tools that can. -
inthehive email migration

There's a couple of ways you could do this. Do they support IMAP? If so, you can use the built in tools within Office 365 to do it. https://support.office.com/en-gb/article/What-you-need-to-know-about-migrating-your-IMAP-mailboxes-to-Office-365-3fe19996-29bc-4879-aab9-5a622b2f1481 Otherwise, there's paid for products. Depending on the number of mailboxes this might be more cost effective. Or you can do it as you've said and download PST files and reimport them but I've had mixed experiences with this. -

It only does mail not calendars and contacts, right? -

I gave this a try and it was a tad unsuccessful. I don't think it handled large mailboxes very well. -
Just to check, you have their email address set within the AD account profile don't you?
-
I missed the memo.
-
That was my experience. Plus, if multiple products use it, it's very easy to add in the additional 'reports' and means there's only one install to manage.

Only your IT team will be able to resolve this as its connected to your school account. At a guess, your password has expired, and that is why you cannot login. As above try and make contact with the school. I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to find the email address of your IT department / manager and send them a message?

Another common one is Groupcall Xporter. Groupcall xporter | MIS Data Exporter

As others have said, the initial install is pretty simple. Just run through a setup and a few button clicks. If you're doing the configuration, that will take the time, and it'll be helpful to have your data manager/slt on hand to answer the specifics relating to permissions, behaviour, attendance. It's not something you should have to make the decisions on yourself. Backup your SIMS database prior to install

Here we go again... RM bashing. This sort of thing does get a tad repetitive, with all due respect.
-
When you say old door, do you mean if the system is being installed onto an existing door as opposed to a complete new door and Paxton system? Edit: I think I understand. By new door, you mean new Paxton installation?

If you managed it, your skills are wasted in schools!

I don't believe there is. It's taking over!
