By the way, anyone thinking that setting a scheduled charge period will same them money - it probably won't as when your are not scheduled charging the devices will slowly lose charge which means when the scheduled charge period starts the devices will need extra charging to get back up to their original charge percentage. I.e it uses the same number of watts to leave a device plugged in using 2 or 3 watts, as it does to leave it unplugged all day and then have to charge it for an hour at 40 watts.

It's pretty much same spec as my own gaming pcs except I've got a Radeon 6900XT rather than a 3090. Fly's in 1440p games and will totally demolish 1080p. What screen/res are you thinking of using?

Check with a solicitor, but as I understand it, the legal agreement needs to be in place when the loan is originally given - you can't come back 3 years later and devise a legal agreement all of a sudden - it won't be worth the paper it is written on and he would be able to get out of it at any time.

Yes there are some silly rules out there. All I think it does is create conflict and take valuable time and effort away from the teaching and the learning. I think the old view that uniform somehow improves the school / schools reputation is false in these modern times.

I have always believed organisations are much better off fostering talent in house rather than outsourcing to a company who's literal main aim is to make as much profit as they can from you (and from your Students)... A lot of organisations take the easy route (phone MSP, pay MSP, use MSP) which is ok if you have no time/little choice but if you can go the route of building a strong in house team they will serve the organisation much better and are usually actually better value for money. For evidence, you only have to look at the huge list fortune 500's who've outsourced whole departments lock stock and 2 smoking barrels and then a year or 2 later had to reverse the decision with their tail between their legs and try and build up internal teams again from scratch which is not an easy thing to do. It's hard to attract talent, it's extremely easy to lose talent! So attract it and don't lose it and your organisation will be all the better. Sadly I kinda don't practice what I preach as I could lose my in house team at any point as the salaries are pathetic (yes my salary is pathetic too) thus to make in house teams really work in the long term you need to pay above average.

Evolis Primacy here but it's not overly reliable and the software's a bit of a pain to use. Wouldnt buy another Evolis Primacy let's put it that way! No idea if any of the other makes are any better! Hope so!

Pretty much identical to us. The other big negatives to HWB is the inability to manage your own schools data - not just for the daily stuff like renaming/creating OUs but the serious stuff such as data retention investigations and compliance etc.

At appears to be a file systems permission change on the top level folder of the drive. I.e. D:\ has new permissions, the Owner has been changed from Administrators to SYSTEM The Permission entries have been reset to only Creator Owner, System and Administrators (all explicate users/groups from our active directory are no longer there e.g. domain admins etc). Yet the subfolders don't have ant changes, still have Administrators as the Owner and still have a couple of our Domain groups intact. Ultra weird. Clearly I could override the top level permissions to add my administrator account or group of domain admins and then I'd be able to view the drive in my computer - but I have not changed anything yet whilst we (and the LA) try to work out what has caused this change on all of our fileservers at the same time?

Hey all - got a very weird one. Yesterday noticed that the user account usually log into servers with - could not access the D or E drive (but can C) on Windows 2022 file servers in my computer. Initially though the drives had actually gone down - but no, they're up and service network shares and users are connected fine, but just cant open the drive letters in my computer. Two windows updates went on early yesterday morning - KB5032336 and KB5032198 Can you guys check your Windows 2022 file servers for similar behavior especially if they've got those two patches on? I am at a loss as even creating a brand new local admin account on the server, cant browse the D and E drives and used an LA domain admin account and same issue on that too! It's utterly bizzare!! These are all Hyper-V VMs

No i meant the IVMS software to be honest it's pretty garbage in my opinion! I suppose it's free..
