  1. We have 1 main DC account that only the Systems Admin uses (me) to install stuff on servers - gets disabled once no longer needed. Noone is allowed to rdp into the servers unless at the console or has the authorised permission to do so aka myself and the other admin We have IT Admin group which allows read access to certain folders and permissions for what is required (DHCP, GPO which is locked down using AGPM, DNS) We have LAPS setup now, whereas before the administrator account was renamed to IT with local admin privileges with a password that was changed every month. We now will be adding a local IT account that we can use to install stuff and troubleshoot (password will change every 4 weeks) - if they are admin machines they will have different permissions and so on. Everything is mostly controlled via SCCM and GPO so our IT Team have no reason to install stuff manually.
  2. Going on from @Primus, how big is your network? I would highly recommend putting something like pfsense in place.
  3. Ah i see, sorry. In terms of Windows Firewall, i am pretty sure it wont work. It has to be an edge Firewall.
  4. When you set the ip, you should leave the gateway out. Other than that all i can think of is 1) do you have a firewall which you can administer? If not ask someone who can administer is to put a block rule for that ip. 2) get something like pfsense which can do this, but overkill for one machine. 3)do you have web filtering software? This maybe depending on what you got should be able to block all internet traffic
  5. If it was uni emails, surely they could have rung IT up and deleted the mail.

  12. Hi Curt, if im not mistaken @Arthur posted something on here 2 weeks ago about OneDrive no longer needing to be synced. You can also use Liebensraum's OneDriveMapper for what it says on the tin, mapping a users onedrive to a driveletter. I used it when i started testing OneDrive and it worked great.

  22. Does anyone use portable devices for staff? Ie use something like miracast to display the screen? Leaving just a tv on the wall?
  23. I thought the same. Started a test VM up for staff to test it out for me in there own time. So far no issues. Everything seems to work the way we want! Although to be fair i haven't updated to the creators build yet. Will do this when i am back from hols and if goes well we plan to deploy to an IT Suite and the Computer Science Department. We have some Sixth Formers who help me test the hell out of things. (One eager beaver even helped roll out papercut mf)
  24. @ass17 you have my life so much easier! Exam departments across our consortium are now using your software too! Do you take donations? If so can you pm me please?
