I've only used a few pairs at home in different rooms, and there were limited channels available - causing interference - one set of headphones would pick up different transmitter, so I would have thought this would be a lot worse with 30ish pairs in one room... I could be wrong though :-p

What Server OS are you using? You should be able to select all the users - right click - properties - profile - set the Home Drives for all, then assuming the main folder containing the User's Home Drive folder exists... e.g. to set the homedrive "\\server\users$\YearXX\%username%" then "\\server\users$\YearXX\" must already exist

Are you struggling to redirect the My Documents folder to the Home Drive? I may have mis-read, but it sounds like you've contradicted yourself... Sounds like you just need to redirect the Documents folder to their Home Drive... GPO - User Configuration - Policies - Windows Settings - Folder Redirection - Documents - Basic: Root Path H: (or whatever drive letter you assign to their homedrives... ours are \\server\share$\yearxx\%username%) Apologies if that's not what you meant...

Definitely worth checking out inVentry - nicely packaged system for visitor management, and handles staff / pupils too... It was designed by a school Network Manager, so is built specifically for schools...

We use a system called inVentry - visitors & pupils can sign in and out... Visitors with photo ID and badges printed... All the data syncs to a PDA, so in the event of a fire (drill hopefully), someone can just take the PDA and see all visitors & missing staff/pupils etc... There is also a button to do a quick print out of the list... inVentry If you look into it, tell them I sent you :-)

I've been using it for just under a year, and find it invaluable for loads of reasons, and there are quite a few features I've not even tried to use yet... I can highly recommend it... If you want to discuss it or ask any questions from an unbiased source, feel free to get in touch :¬)

That does look good... but are the other smaller things mentioned in the first post still included in that? (Small Basic / Kodu Game Labs / Windows Phone SDK) They'd be some of the key reasons for using it...

I contacted them shortly after I signed up for it a while ago, with the idea of moving from Dreamweaver (we were using an old version so it would have saved paying to upgrade)... The reply I got was that it is definitely not for use by pupils in school

I got fed up with the various free ones, they just weren't powerful or reliable enough, so had to splash out on Xilisoft Video Converter - which I'd been using at home for a while... If you create a Facebook Page rather than another private Facebook account then users only have to Like it, and not friend anyone, so it's not the same and very little risk... The only thing you see in the news feed if you "Use Facebook As ...." your page, is the statuses of other pages your school page has liked...

You can get VGA Adaptors to wire them to a projector, and apps to display the iPad screen on a PC, I've not tried either... yet... but it is possible...

I found the same with my school when I was setting it up, I reported them and they were soon closed down :¬)

I would also appreciate seeing that if possible... Our iPads are currently managed individually, but I'm sure there will be a time when we get a bank of bookable devices that need managing centrally...

Hi All! I've set ActivInspire 1.5.xxxx to deploy through a GPO, but there's an update to 1.6.xxxx I've got the MSI from the update downloaded through ActivInspire on one of the clients and tried to deploy that in a new GPO and as an update in the original GPO without any success... I've tried downloading the complete new 1.6 package, but the download fails constantly, so have been unable to try this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Resurrecting an old topic I know, but I'm looking to get staff to use the Outlook Calendars more, and would love to give them a quick and easy way of importing their timetables... Can anyone tell me how to create such a report? I've been looking into it and what I've exported so far isn't suitable or easily modifiable for importing into SIMS...

Hi All! First post to sell here on EduGeek... We've got 3 laptop trolleys: 2 x Bretford LAPTG15-AR 1 x Bretford LAPTG15-GM Both are 16-bay trolleys. The LAPTG15-GM has a missing latch to lock the cabinet, but can probably be replaced by your tech dept? These are still going for £800+ new (Link), so we're looking for £500 each. Using Windows 7 Pro. When using the pen on the board the text recognition seems to slow the writing down significantly, meaning unless you write seriously slowly, it doesn't pick everything up. Is there a way of disabling the handwriting recognition? I can't imagine many people find it that useful - when using IWBs in classrooms it's often for bullet points / spider diagrams etc. as opposed to paragraphs of text... So handwriting recognition is redundant. Any assistance would be gratefully received.
