As a member of the BCS I am a bit disappointed they're not leading on this, the reason I joined was for professional development and to help keep up to date with all things IT!

Pretty good here, I can think of at least two who do take a pride in their work. If I'm still here when they're cleaning this area they ask to come in to clean, or depending on who it is I may get told to clear off (in a nice way!) for 5 minutes while they vacuum the floor! You can't see any worktops so there's no point in them doing them

AARRGGH! I sent it back as it makes a horrid squeak when using the paddles, but they've just contacted me to say there's no fault I shall be e-mailing them back to remind them of the fault and ask how they tested it - i.e. in a noisy workshop, and was it just a case of take it out of the box pull the paddles once and put it back away! Anyone any suggestion what else to say, at the monet I've paid £10 to send it back, and will have to pay to have it returned

Has anyone heard of a likely release date for 2008 storage server? As I already have 2003 R2 storage server I'd rather hold off buying a new server until 2008 is available rather than buy the same again, but just on new hardware. I've tried googling, MS sites, etc! Cheers!

There's no such thing as a stupid quesiton, only a stupid answer I have our two file server NICs teamed, I assumed that that gives us doubel the bandwidth, but I've never looked into it! Again, thanks for asking the question, I'm sure plenty others have learnt something to!

Adding new items to the asset register (I always forget), agree with gecko - print servers that need power cycling (AAARGHH!!) and anything to do with laptops/wireless

Yep, I'd start with the switch. What switch is it? It may be a known issue - Have you looked for a firmware update? Or it could be just plain hardware failure.......

Has anyone any up to date contact details for Microsmile? Or have they gone under!?! I want to see if a 64bit TS compatible version is available but the phone goes dead, e-mails are bounced and the website is not available. It doesn't look good..........

Now I know why I bought a wireless router for the house - Sunny Day, sat out on decking, glass of Wine, laptop and Edugeeking I'm impressed, I have a long garden (ex council house) and if I take the laptop to the bottom of the garden I still get 24 Mb/s though it varies from good to low strength... Time to go, glass needs refilling

I'm assuming licencing is no prob with PCs that come with individual licences, VLKs would obviously be a no go! My big concern would be that no matter how much you stress that once they take the PC you will not support it, someone will always try and bring it in if it breaks As for for legal position, I have to agree, I can't see how you can have any come back if it's given with a current PAT test.

I rang 00 1.888.212.5537, I straight away said I was calling from Maesteg Comprehensive in the UK, that we've been blacklisted and I'd like to get it resolved! The guy asked what bounce backs I was getting, I said nothing it was sitting in out mail queue, that I'd tried the manual telnet and got 554rtrch error. He then asked my name, what IP address I was sending from and said it would all be okay with 24-48 hours, which it was. Maybe try calling again and hope you get someone else! Oh, I did get the "thank you for calling AOL and have a nice day" to finish, how nice

That's a very good point! I, like a lot of others here, have a good moan about our LA and ICT policies, if us on the ground can get into the LA and have an input or even influence, on the way things are done then that has to be a good thing! Especially for you guys going through BSF Congrats Tony

I can't see why you can't keep using your VLKs, you'll just have to buy the PCs with Vista on, down(or up!)grade to XP and hunt for drivers........ Unless the manufacturers manage to still sell with an XP downgrade CD/DVD supplied

I've just spoken to their postmaster dept on- 00 1.888.212.5537 (US Number) he's removed us from the blacklist and we'll be able to send to AOL addresses in the next 24-48 hours. The call took about 2 mins in total, so even though it's a USA call it shouldn't cost too much!

Local DNS issue? Though strange you can get to Edugeek. Then perhaps Edugeek is out to take over the world edit: Actually that's a dumb statement if you can ping them,..............
