  1. I agree with CyberNerd. In an ideal world, Mono would be able to run any .NET-compiled application. But in reality, and probably especially with SIMS, this is unlikely to work. Just look at all the stuff on the Porting winforms applications page on the Mono project website. I very much doubt SIMS was written with Mono in mind.
  2. The interface looks uninspiring, not a patch on the likes of Android or (dare I say it) the iPhone. There is a lot of competition at the moment for MS in this market. Is it really necessary or desirable to have your Xbox highscores on the front of your phone? Why all that empty space on the right of the home screen? The transitions between screens seem very slow as well. I don't think anything about this will set the world on fire.
  3. When I was learning to drive about 5-6 years ago, I was taught to put it into neutral and apply the handbrake if you're going to be sat still for more than a few seconds.
  4. I'll take three!
  5. All of our LCDs are AG Neovo hard-fronted ones, so we just use a single squirt of Mr Muscle Window & Glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
  6. Accessible through both our internal IPCop proxy server and our ISP's "filtering" system.
  7. It's something I'm working on, I just need the time to document it fully ( in between writing Classroombookings v2 ) The Zimbra pre-authentication key is hard-coded in the executable for security purposes, so it would need to be re-compiled with your own included. Other paths etc are stored in an INI file though.
  8. Just to carry on from what Bossman said... we use open source Zimbra here For the extra added touch, all users are given a shortcut to a localised Mozilla Prism (cut-down browser) pointed to the Zimbra web client. Mozilla is better than Internet Explorer at handling the heavy Javascript. Also, a custom C# program handles integrated Windows authentication, and also allows staff to enable/disable email access for the room.
  9. Problem in Opera as well with the advert covering the post.
  10. [citation needed]
  11. Whether a phone is right for you comes down to what you want to do with it The Nexus One (or Motorola Milestone) would be the sensible choice if you use any of Google services - the integration for email, calendar, contacts and maps is second to none. The Nexus is also highly customisable, and has satnav functionality out of the box. The hardware of the HD2 is very similar to the Nexus One (as they're both made by HTC, both have a 1GHz processor...) but it runs Windows Mobile. That's either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your take with Windows stuff. I'm not sure if it has satnav out of the box.
  12. DokuWiki, MediaWiki, or WikkaWiki are good choices.
  13. The week of Monday 31st May - 4th June for us.
  14. Interesting videos...
  15. Yep, would be interested in this. Open source Linux/Zimbra with our AD integration + preauth + Prism maybe?
  16. You don't need MS Access installed for it to use the .MDB file - AFAIK it just utilises the ODBC drivers that are already installed on the server.
  17. We run Liberum on our Win2K CC3 servers which only have 8GB C partitions, but we just use a .mdb file as the database. Everything for it is stored in the wwwroot folder on G, and is configured under the Intranet site within IIS. You've probably done these already, but here's a couple of ideas to gain extra space on C: Move the pagefile onto another drive (ours is on D I think). Check the size of IIS log files By default they are saved on C, and these can get very large over time.
  18. It looks like the times and dates have been replaced with [sERVER_IP] as well You will be able to find more info in the file /var/log/mail.log (or mail.log.0, ..log.1 for further back in time). Filter it for all the message IDs in the email like this (example): cat /var/log/mail.log | grep -e A0BE480E3CB -e 0947D80E30F -e .......... To find the message IDs, look for the lines that say by hostname.example.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id B0A83BE276.
  19. Where do you go to get this update please?
  20. Places Directory (local places of interest) ConnectBot (SSH client, with port forwards) androidVNC beebPlayer (BBC iPlayer) Process Monitor (close pesky programs that stay open) Twidroid (Twitter client)
  21. From a Windows box, you can use PuTTY's plink.exe to run a remote command. If we need to restart the proxy service on our IPCop box, we have a batch file that does this: plink user@hostname -P 222 -i key.ppk /usr/local/bin/restartsquid -P 222 for port 222 (omit this if it runs on port 22). -i key.ppk for passwordless login. /usr/local/bin/restartsquid in my example is the command to run on the remote host. PuTTY Download Page Using the command-line connection tool Plink Using Plink to initiate an SSH session from the command line or a script
  22. It would be interesting to see if there was a difference in the initial write speed for lots of smaller files (but similar large overall size) instead of ISOs. For example, lots of office documents, images and audio files to represent as close to a "real world" environment as possible.

LDAP/AD integration will be in v2.
  25. @AngryITGuy Yep. If none of the phone lines are working, d'ya reckon the helpdesk staff have been sat there wondering how quiet it is?
