Staff and Students in Email Address Book
laserblazer replied to enjay's topic in How do you do....it?
We have Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms for staff but that still fails sometime (Gmail) . I've changed all staff surnames to uppercase which seems to help. -
Any motorbike riders here? First time rider advice.

When I retire later this year we plan to spend at least some of the winter in the Algarve and I intend to get a 125cc scooter for pottering about. Up to 125cc, they are tax free and insurance is a pittance. Coupled with empty roads, which still have hard shoulders for the "Jerusalem Jeeps" it's a motorcyclist's dream. -
Google Apps?

I took my motorbike test in August 1965 a few days after my 16th birthday. It was in Trowbridge and there were no traffic lights and one zebra crossing. The examiner was on foot and he told me to ride up the road, go right around the block and return to him, when he raised his clipboard I was to do an emergency stop. The road was a row of terraced houses and I took two lefts so I was going down the parallel road and there was the examiner, clipboard raised. He must have ducked through one of the houses. I certainly wasn't expecting to see him there, which I guess was the point. Stupid thing is, even though I've hardly ridden a bike in 45 years, I could walk into a Kawasaki showroom and drive away on their fastest bike. I do quite fancy a Piaggio MP3. -

And remember you have to be careful for other motorists as well. Work on the basis that they are all idiots and are about to do something daft. -

Flappy bird creator, Dong Nguyen, has removed the program from the App Store. This makes him the first games programmer in history to successfully pull a bird.

That has not occurred to me. So all the Asian call-centre workers think we are incredibly rude and arrogant because they are totally oblivious to the fact that their client is trying to rip us off?

Seems nobody here has been able to receive GMails since Friday. I only got suspicious when the backup confirmation didn't arrive. Is anyone else having problems?

We have booked a week in August in a little cottage in Harbottle a bit north of Hadrian's Wall. We want to break the journey, staying at a Travelodge or similar, somewhere north of Manchester with a National Trust or English Heritage property in the area.

In the rare occasion that we can't get access, the main panic is for senior staff and the office to check emails. So I tether my phone to a laptop. The HT and DH have iPads with 3g.

I once got a ticket for jumping a red light in Uxbridge. I put in the mitigating circumstances, "please refer to police incident 12345". I got a letter back saying they would not be prosecuting in this instance. No mention about the white van man who ran into the back of me at great speed. To be fair, they obviously bothered to check the incident number. -
Depends on whether it was the butterfly or the cat that flew away.
