As I understand it, this holds good for any electrical item that is plugged in or switched on. It's good for so many switches or insert/removals. If you plan to switch on and off a lot, then get a good one. If it's occasional use, save your money.

As soon as I start the test the wifi speed drops from 54 down to 5 or less. The test comes back at between 1 and 2 Mbps. The good new, I've been for a long walk in bright sunshine in t-shirt and shorts. Going to sit on the patio with a coffee and a book

The resort management have had a WiFi system installed that has a number of APs that are linked by radio. I don't know the manufacture but there's a AP on a big pole on top of our house. When I connect I get a 56Mbps link but as soon as I start any downloads, it drops right off as far as 1Mbps. I'm probably the only person online at present, so it can't be overloaded. I've discussed it with the management but they don't seem to understand the problem. Can anyone suggest what might be going on please?

I had two Black and Decker ones that both started bleeping, even with new batteries. Bought a pair from Argos for £8. Sorted!

I've been round my mates trying to sort out a computer he has got for his wife. It's quite a nice Lenovo with a 21.5" touch screen, super slim all-in-one that he got from Amazon. Opened it up and it had a european mains lead and AZERTY keyboard and a French OS. Couldn't get hold of Amazon. His wife has just come home and asked him if he'd got the turkey! Of course he hadn't. Se then said to me "I hope he hasn't got me a bloody computer for Christmas". Even if he gets a turkey, it won't be defrosted in time for tomorrow!

Had a bit of felt tear off on the shed but I've managed to nail it back down. It's due to be replaced anyway. I hope nobody has any serious issues, especially if they affect tomorrow's festivities.

It could be that Amsterdam is one of the destinations for that airline, which will mean they have the facilities in place to refuel. The pilot can't simply put it on his credit card.

A mate of mine came round with his HP laptop and Sony bluetooth speakers. The device was showing but with a yellow triangle and when it fired up there was a software not installed successfully. His phone works fine to his laptop and the bluetooth speakers paired to my tablet. Any suggestions please?

Usually, this time of year, bulk copying is for a Xmas production and if this has been purchased, then copyright issues are covered. Usually, the copyright owner gets 50p per copy. They may also require credits in a suitable form. Again, this will be clear in the production pack.

I've just done 60 in our ICT suite using Imgburn. I created the iso on a share and then started it running on 30 computers. By the time I'd got to the last one, the first had finished and I went around again. Less than an hour including verification. I did the same thing last year when the network was running at 100M and it took ages with the buffers emptying. At 1Gb it was able to run as fast as the dvds could be written to.

I hate soaps

We had ours yesterday, SLT served it up and it was ok. Spuds and sprouts cooked to perfection. Not sure where the turkey came from but it was edible. It was free to all staff.

Here's the answer.

We get this in our school. So and so has a broken arm and needs a laptop to write. Followed by, how is so and so supposed to print. Followed by the battery only lasts for a couple of hours. Followed by, so and so's friend has tripped over the mains cable and broken her arm, she needs a laptop!!! I'd find out who says your pupil needs a laptop because if it's a layperson you might be doing more harm than good.

A friend of mine's 17 year old daughter has just got a car and had a black box fitted. It has made quite a difference to her insurance premium.

I get the tins of chunky soaps from Aldi at 69p. They do a larger selection now, adding lamb with mint and chunky veg. A tin of that and a banana less than £1.00. Can't be bad. On Fridays, I have Aldi Herring in mustard or mango spice sauce. I put it on crispbread. Slightly more expensive at 89p but we all deserve the occasional treat
