Does anyone know how to disable the 30 day trial from the msi or registry? Just looking at deploying but would like to remove this. Does anyone else do this or do you just leave the trial to expire of its own accord (it just seems a little messy to do it this way)?

Sorry to drag up a seriously old thread but does anyone have the mac zip file for this? If not does anyone know how to disable the RSS manually? I have just tried the link and needed to setup a salesforce.com account, did so only to be told that I still do have sufficient privileges to access the file! Having the issues as described but no Avid Support contract!

Without knowing your site it is hard to say but as a generalisation I would suggest that Ruckus will give you the same coverage as Aerohive but with fewer APs. The question then is would the coverage of fewer APs give you the throughput you require? The down side to Ruckus APs is that the warranty costs extra, whereas it is factored into the cost with Aerohive (if you care about warranty anyway). I was told by a couple of Ruckus resellers to just buy a few extra APs and have them on the shelf if one should fail, that did not sit well with me. Another benefit of Aerohive is that the SSID keys are held on the AP so authentication happens at the edge, obviously if you are using RADIUS this is not the case.

You will probably find that although some systems are capable of this (Aerohive is one) it is actually illegal to use it.

Loving Aerohive, it has a big bonus where if you can't grantee if all devices will support .11x (such as BYOD). You can use PPSK and have each user authenticate with their own unique key, even better is that this authentication happens at the edge so reduces network overhead.

We are moving ISPs at Easter and we will finally be able to set our own IP schema. We are currently on a /22 network (dictated to us) but was thinking of changing this to /20 (to allow us room to VLAN over the summer), this is not a problem in terms of the switches and clients. Where I am struggling is the server side of things, here is a brief rundown of what we have: 2 x ESX Hosts 1 x SAN 2 x DCs (Virtual) 1 x Member server (Virtual) 1 x vCenter (Virtual) 1 x vSphere Management Assistant (Virtual) 1 x Citrix Terminal Server (Virtual) 1 x Virtual CAG I have no idea what order I need to change the above or how best to do it. If these were all physical there would be no problem but for example if I change the SAN IP and subnet first none of the virtual servers would be able start(?). Any advice on this one would be appreciated.

You could possibly use Orca to make an MST to change the default install directory. The file that needs to be changed could be done using Advanced Installer. Get the software silently installing using the MSI and MST to program files (preferably to your computer). Make the changes to the text/xml file and make an additional MSI containing just that file (using advanced installer). Import that into RMMC as WJEC Secure Client Settings and make your original WJEC Secure Client package a dependency for it. What should happen is that the original package goes on with the wrong text/xml file and then the settings package will overwrite it. It could be useful doing it this way if you are expecting to change ISP or proxy as you just need to update the settings package.

You are right but even some people on here would write off an IE12 before even using it simply because it is IE.

I detest the thought of BYOD in context of my current school. Here there is such a massive digital divide that some students literally have nothing. Why promote inequality in school where the haves and the have nots impact the very core of delivering the curriculum. I would liken it to abolishing school uniform; on one hand it gives freedom of choice but on the other hand it can cause personal grief and a whole new level of peer pressure. Only in this instance it is being promoted by school policy. Not for me thanks (until I'm told to do otherwise or someone here can convince me I'm wrong)

When this happens and it specifies update failed with no logon options I have always rebuilt. I know in certain scenarios you can copy the core update to the workstation and run it manually but obviously you need to be able to login to do that.

Can't comment on Meraki but the handful of Aerohive AP230s we have here have been very good. Good spec, signal and the APs are also perfectly capable of doubling up as a PPSK server if needed.

I have Aerohive here but still on a very basic flat network until the summer. I have not had any issues with roaming devices on our AP121 and AP230's. What model APs do you have and are you using HMOL?

It may be worth talking to your account manager at RM to see how much the update for the Win 8 build area will cost. It may not be that expensive.

This is simply not the case. If you are on CC4.3 (Server 2008R2) then you can add Windows 8 & 8.1 to the build area just like Windows 7. I would say that Aerohive would be a good fit to your specification. Only used it on a single site but the company we have our support with do so by having access to multiple sites.

I know where you're coming from but HTML5 has been touted as the next big thing for so long that it is surprising (to me) that it has taken so long for such a big player (in terms of bandwidth consumption) to fall in line. However the support of 4K and variable bit rates may have helped with this decision.

If you are using SIMS I believe there is a feature like that built in (designed for classroom issues but just as appropriate in this scenario).
