It is true that the Zimbra migrations have stopped however some schools are happy with what they have got in Zimbra (5 or 8). So the decision was made to make O365 available on request (and at cost if you would like Link to migrate for you). It ultimately comes down to them not being able to force people to use O365. Best thing about Kindles is that you can add new books to them via USB, you don't need a network connection directly on the Kindle at all.

It's not a bad idea I might look at if this would pay off for us.

@eshaq786 As you are still using the ADSL connection for FCS and (presumably) got a new non BGFL internet connection in. How have you resolved any IP address issues, or are you still using the Birmingham scope and subnet? IE is the machine used for FCS connected directly to the ADSL line and nothing else or do have a more elaborate setup?

If I recall you have to have the Service Desk otherwise you wont get any support (despite paying separately for MIS support). It may be something I look at as I am trying to get away but am being held back by FCS and MIS, the latter may not be an issue come April.

So communication is still a point of contention then. That was one area that was absolutely clear from the last meeting they needed to improve on. Edit: @eshaq786 As you still have the ADSL line and use FCS Login are you still being charged for the core subscription?

Got it, they are conflicting on port 80. So now I don't have IIS where is my web root?

I am investigating Xibo and am looking to do a test setup to see how the office staff get on with updating it. I am ashamed to be saying this but, I have never setup a web server from scratch and am having some trouble getting this to run on Server 2008 R2 (IIS). I have tried with little success to Google my way around the issues but I have now hit a brick wall. What I have done so far: 1. Installed Server 2008 R2 Standard onto a fresh VM. 2. Given the server a static IP and assigned the Web Server (IIS) role. 3. Installed PHP and MySQL via XAMPP. Issue 1: Apache service would not start on port 80, I changed the Apache httpd.conf to port 8080. It then started. Has anyone else had this problem? Issue 2: As only for testing I moved the extracted Xibo folder to the default website, however when browsing to http://localhost/xibo/ I do not get the install page, I get an ftp like list of files and directories (Even though FTP Server Services are not installed). If I click on install.php I get: HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map. I have been looking at this for days and I just can't seem to get something that should be quite easy to work. If anyone has any advice or pointers to where I have gone wrong I would really appreciate it. Any EduHobNobs knocking about today?

The last time I read about this the iPad app is just that, an app that allows the portal content to be displayed. It doesn't lock the device down in any way. If you also consider that you can use the Learn Pad system on any Android device running 4.2 onwards in the same way the LearnPad own devices, you could have a Nexus 7 working in the exact same way as the solutions provided as stock.

What version of IE are you running on CC4? Have you tried a different version or tried putting the site into compatibility view?

Have you tried just doing a local install of Silverlight on that machine? Just do it over the top of the packaged version.
