I think you should be ok, I don't think CC4 uses GPO to allocate printers; it just populates the list of available printers from AD. I believe printer delivery is handled by the RM Printer Manager Package, although I could be wrong!

Herein lies the problem, if they do (for the sake of argument) update the OS each year. You may find yourself perpetually waiting as you don't want to jump too early, by which point you might as well wait for the next release.

Yup, have been asked by Art and DT in the past and have always told them no. If they want to collaborate we have a perfectly good VLE at their disposal.

I don't have a single issue with Windows 8 as an OS at home, I get on quite well with it. In a networked environment much like IOs it is just a no for me, Microsoft seemed to forget that SMB and schools are a huge market for their OS sales. Hopefully the Windows 9 start menu can actually be controlled with GPOs like we are all accustomed. Does anyone know if with the proposed frequency of OS releases; what they are doing on the server side?

If you are serious about biking consider joining RoSPA or IAM, it takes your riding to the next level. Possibly move the school name to the left side, get rid of the small school logo at the bottom and make the quote larger to fill the space? If the school is particularly pleased with the grade make the Ofsted logo bigger?

Not at all helpful but just looking at it as a design it feels a bit cluttered with the school name and text but sparse in the top left and bottom. (Not that I could do any better!)

I don't want to derail the thread but I will say that you are less likely to roll with textiles as they won't bite into the road surface like leather does, you slide (I know from experience). Comfort reduces fatigue therefore is beneficial to concentration making the event of the off less likely in the first place. Its all about the right equipment for the circumstances, good quality textiles are a better choice for all year, all weather riding than leather (hence my opinion and choice of clothing).

There is but they are also wearing one piece suites, knee sliders and have built in air bags! They are also routinely riding at 180mph+. Good quality textiles are just as efficient in protection for standard road use and are superior for comfort, warmth and water proofing. Have you ever watch Long Way Round? They aren't wearing leather are they.

Why not go for textiles rather than leather? I know leather looks better but you can get water resistant textiles that will keep you dry on a shot commute or you can go the full gore tex route if you are into the longer distance stuff (leather or textile for gore tex), however gore tex does cost a bit. There are few things that will make you more miserable than being soaked through in December on the way to work with the wind cutting right through you. Also very hard to concentrate and still feel your fingers in those conditions.

As you're in the midlands area please remember that you can't ride on the Aston Expressway with L plates, as it is a motorway. My only other advice is don't be a hero and try to ride when its icy or snowing, it isn't fun and is simply not worth the risk. Do however get some mileage in the wet, it does make you a better rider.

This is possibly a little facetious but if you applied the same logic to a 'normal' network device. Its like making all students local admins on every network computer and saying everything will be fine because they know they aren't supposed to be breaking anything. Back to the iPad. On a device with little or no auditing how are you supposed to find out who did what, when and where? Without logging who has what device at the start of each session you simply can't (unless you are 1:1).

Hi Andrew We have been having problems too, although I had put that down to sporadic internet issues in general last week with BGFL. We are using IE10 with a couple of computers running IE11. We have had issues with: People being redirected to the normal O365 login screen (we use RM Unify for SSO). Emails not previewing or opening when clicked. Unable to add attachments (even just 2k files). O365 popup windows failing to load anything (such as double clicking an email).

It all depends on exactly what is being used and what is expected of it (and of you). Based on the numbers you provide however I would expect at least: 1 person full time (term time only) to keep things running to a satisfactory state. Just my 2p worth anyway.

Nope, it is not possible to rename a computer running CC4; it must be rebuilt. If you import a computer account directly into AD the RMMC will simply not acknowledge it.

Just logged one too, staff have been complaining all week of being unable to add attachments in O365. I have only just put 2 and 2 together and tethered a computer to my phone on an edge 3g signal to have it work almost instantly!

Yes 100% call them before doing anything, it could have been that they did my site and some others and then stopped. Anyone else getting intermittently horrendous internet connectivity?

*This is based on knowledge from a previous site and is two years old. It can be done, the big problem was that the official ADM templates provided by Google make a complete mess of the Reg Policies in the RMMC. So much so that I ended up just imported the templates directly in AD to set the policies. I have heard various people complain about being unable to successfully set policy but this was with more recent versions of Chrome and the ADM templates than in my experience. Having a little trouble getting my head around this one. I have previously licensed our students for Student Advantage using the following script: Get-MsolUser -All -Title Student | set-MsolUserLicense -AddLicenses XXXXXX:OFFICESUBSCRIPTION_STUDENT This worked fine as it was the first run and no students had the license. I am sure I can run the command again and it will just error on any users with the license but what I would like to do now is get a command to get all users that do not have the office subscription and then allocate it. I was just going to run it for our new year 7 students who all begin with the same string but then there are certainly some students who have come since I ran the above script in other year groups. Not all of the older year groups conform to the naming convention and therefore do not share a common string. All students do have the "-Title Student" property, but I don't know how to filter only for users without student advantage.
