Make the deployment once complete Right click the Application under Application Management > Applications > Properties Software Center Tab, down the bottom I'm running config manager version 2103 though, fresh install about a month ago -
Is There An MSI for SMART Notebook Basic

If you can run the exe with /quiet or something similar you can put it in sccm as a script installer -
Here's my settings - Works nicely and everything is logged as you would expect with no errors Smoothwall > Authentication > BYOD Authorized RADIUS Clients Wi-Fi Controller - I'm using Ruckus so I've just got the controller there. Sounds like you may have to add each AP. Forward RADIUS Accounting to NPS Server. NPS > Radius Clients and Servers > Radius Clients Wi-Fi Controller Smoothwall Wi-Fi AAA Servers 3 DCs as Active Directory sources Smoothwall RADIUS Accounting NPS as RADIUS Doesn't read right when you think about it logically but it works perfectly. Shared secret needs to be put in all places too

Back in my junior tech days when Tesco did the computers for schools vouchers, lots of these appeared and they were absolute junk. Never touching anything they make again

We have one Epson ELPDC21 that gets shared around by teachers, Works perfectly, quality is great but it's damn expensive

Have you got hardware capable of supporting an RDS environment? Then 100% go for that, server 2016 implementation onwards is great and dead simple to setup. Tested and working from Windows, MacOS (Including the Chinese locked down ones), Android, ChromeOS and IOS. Even tested from China, it's very slow but works and allows Chinese students access to Google Classroom - Forget about video conferencing over it though!

We bought them from Prowise for this exact reason. Expensive and never used. The art teach insists on using a lightbox or a projector on a stand pointing down
-
Prowise across the board here. Integrated soundbar, oodles of connections (Display port on the new ones). OPS modules from VeryPC, works a dream. Teachers never use the prowise software, but the microsoft whiteboard app from the store or onenote works perfect for them.

Throttle Ipad bandwidth on Ruckus/Mosyle
slugshead replied to mikkydoos's topic in Wireless Networks
This is very true, 4 years ago we were 100Mb and the pains of BYOD, software updates and video conferencing was real. I've currently got 2 x 1000mb connections in place that costs less than a single 100mb did four years ago -
Throttle Ipad bandwidth on Ruckus/Mosyle

There's two things you can do, cache server and limit bandwidth to the appstore during core hours on the smoothwall. They have a predefined category for software updates where you can place the bandwidth limiting rules on -
I've heard a lot of good things about Power School being used in Asia. I've also heard that it's quite common for mainland schools to VPN to HK so that Google is accessible. So assuming you can host your RDS environment in HK, you could still use Google

I'd remove the faulty module, turn the module off using "no module 2", change the number accordingly. Put new one in and set it up. I've tried a direct swap with a like for like, but the J numbers were different (newer revision) and it did some strange things. so best to almost start fresh.

ClientSophosSetup.exe --quiet Is what I use in SCCM. -
We're using everything in iSAMS. We've also have an NHS GP's office here, they bring their own stuff and VPN back to the local medical centre

In our studio I opted for a 2TB SSD in the machine itself for all work to be edited locally. We're refurbing our music department and building a comp room there too for audio editing, midi controllers, audio interfaces and Ableton on each computer etc... But in that spec I've put a Synology NAS with SFP+ connections that'll sit in a cab in the room connected to the same switch as the rest of the PCs

OBS on a dedicated PC that's capable of higher bitrate encoding. Live stream to Youtube, enable DVR in youtube and you've got a recording there saved for you. Blackmagic ATEM mini to capture multiple HDMI sources and feed them to OBS https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Black-Magic-Design-ATEM-Mini/art-LIG0017193-000 Cameras all have to have HDMI out, HDMI to the ATEM mini from the laptop too. Mix the main LR channels from mixing desk into another output (Like an aux or monitor) and put that into the Line in on the PC or the ATEM Mini

Computer Science Mobile App Development?
slugshead replied to supportman's topic in How do you do....it?
I installed Android studio in our comp room under a local account created just for this, I'm familiar with it and and Java. I was taking the sessions so a no brainer for me. Many students installed it on their personal devices too. I insisted that anyone with an android phone turns on developer mode and USB debugging, load the apps straight into phones rather than the slow emulators. Comp room got wiped at the end of the academic year. I've seen others install into a virtualbox VM and have the students load it up in the VM. -
I used to run profile quotas and CS6 saw the quota as a target to double.. Needless to say I had to remove the quotas and schedule tasks every night to clear the adobe folders out of peoples appdata folder and clear profiles off machines I'm happy to let users customise things a little so the requirement for mandatory profiles isn't there for me. Profiles just get removed from workstations if you don't log in for 30 days

I'd never touch a D-Link switch as an access switch in a commercial sense, let alone as a core! I recently got an Aruba 5406R with 2 x 8 port SFP+ cards, 1 x 24 port POE card and 2 PSU's for around 5k. I'd really consider that an option/change to upgrade!

Ha TTS, there's a blast from the past i'd rather forget... Anyhow, we use LabQuests by Vernier https://www.vernier.com/products/labquest/ The software is LoggerPro, you can get a license which covers all students to have their installation on personal devices https://www.vernier.com/product/logger-pro-3/
